Aww, it got deleted!
Review: it's a cute little story. Logic and motivations are questionable, but it's a kids' movie. YOU also need to give the animators credit for all that painstaking stop-motion. It's very light and inoffensive, and happy-happy.

I did not delete anything. Oh I see you mean the link. It happens. Maybe with VPN it is still somewhere else.

It's a fine Christmas special intended for kids from the 60s. I don't watching every once in a while, used to watch that shit every year as a kid.
I hope Melee has some opinions on this for use to enjoy.

I appreciate the stop motion techniques for the time, but that's it for this movie. What bothered me as a kid was the overall moral of the story: You're only accepted when you're needed. Most of the characters don't give a damn about the"weird dentist elf and Rudolph," until they are needed. It's too bad the snow monster didn't eat the lot of them.
I always wondered where this story came from, and about 10 years ago, I learned that the story was concocted as an advertisement for J.C. Penny. Apparently they used to give away Christmas coloring books to kids, but they realized it would be cheaper to make up their own story and print their own. Therefore, that was the genesis for this story. Decades later, they turned it into a TV movie to advertise some more.

Funny, I was actually thinking about suggesting this out of respect for Jules Bass, who died a couple months ago.
Looking back, Ranklin Bass is easily one of my favorite american animation studios because, by outsourcing their projects to Japan, they helped build up the japanese animation industry, which would later go on to create some of the most groundbreaking achievements in animation history like Akira, Dragon Ball Z (the Namek saga), and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Those Ranklin Bass LOTR films look better than the american made Bakshi film without even needing to rely on rotoscoping.
RIP Jules Bass. You were one of the most significant figures of the american animation industry and I loved your works.
