Here's a thread for all things on Tears of the Kingdom.
I just pre-ordered mine. Of course, I went for a physical copy. Anyone else pre-order theirs yet?

Yes, which is rare for me. Digital copy with one of the Nintendo online vouchers. Used the other one for Xenoblade 3, even though I've barely touched 2

No yet, but will likely be in the collection at some point.

Although I preordered it, I got it on Monday, as it was delayed in the mail. I am loving this game. Who else is playing it?

Been playing it since last Friday and enjoying it a lot. Nice to be back to this version of Hyrule and seeing what's changed.

There's just so much to do. I'm really loving it so far.

Zelda hasn't been a trend setter since Majora's Mask. It's a washed up, focus-group tested franchise by now.

Bought it on launch, but came a few days after because it wasn't a pre-order. Zelda and Mario are always an investment for your soul.

I'm at the point where I could honestly beat the game probably easily, but I don't want to do so. I still have map to fill out in the depths, and I know there are shrines in the sky I still need to do. This game is just too good to let go yet.

Lots of looooong play sessions, and then another 6 months of short sessions now and then to come back and enjoy things. Probably going to be playing Tears of the Kingdom off and on for another 6 months.

The amount of creativity in the community is ridiculous. I'm sure some of you have seen some of these but:

This game looks really time intensive!

This game looks really time intensive! It can be, but that was the case for Breath of the Wild now too. I'm about 150 hours in, and have done a lot of the sidequests, unlocked most of the things on all three maps (Sky, Ground, Underground), gotten all the shrines etc. It's taken 2 months, but I've been playing other things too. I haven't even been toying around with construction nearly as much as a lof of players.
But if you were just keeping to story-important missions (and some of the major side missions that uncover story-related cut scenes), I think you could be done with it much sooner and have a good, satisfying experience.
But this matches a lot of my Breath of the Wild experience too. Counting the DLC release for it, I played BotW off and on for more than a year (even if I finished the main story well before that), just going in to poke around Hyrule, maybe upgrade some lesser used sets of armour, etc.

I was about to go and beat the game, but my son just told me about infiltrating the Yiga Clan and learning their earthquake punch to win back the Thunder Helm which was from the Gerudo. Just when you thought you've done everything...
