Grew up on these movies and watched them all recenty. The second is pretty entertaining, but this one is just mediocre as it hasn't aged all that well.

Cervantes Fun fact: they gave Donkey some hybrid children because they saw it in MAD Magazine. These films are full of 2000's references and jabs at Disney. But at least Far Far Away Idol has aged well, only because Simon Cowell is still in the business... In universe, Shrek is a social outcast. He's not hip or popular, so he resonates with a lot of people in their late 20's-onward. and he is sort of a basement dweller, living alone in a swamp, right? But we have a story where he falls in love with a Princess who, despite his ogreness, falls in love with his inner beauty. Yep, it's fantasy all right but still better than (insert title here). Donkey, I feel, has been superceded by the likes of Perrito in the last Puss in Boots movie. Where Perrito is innocent, Donkey is obnoxious for the sake of being obnoxious. I agree, this movie is incomplete without its sequel (which they should've stopped wtih.
