GAME THEORY: Is Cherry Hunter a blackface stereotype?

Back when I was a practicing artist, I made a few sketches of black people, and I NEVER drew them with these kind of facial features. Any real artist who knows what they're doing would actively avoid drawing the features attributed to blackface, something that these rank-amateur assholes who drew Cherry Hunter failed to do.

By comparison, look at Sega's (that's right, SEGA, NOT Dotemu's/Lizardcube's) artwork for Skate:




Even Adam's character select art from f*cking Streets of Rage 1 looked like less of a racist cartoon than Cherry.




This is why we needed a Sega-developed Streets of Rage 4. These flash animator assholes at Dotemu or Lizardcube or whatever can't get anything right. I mean, at least their artwork for some of the other characters like Adam Hunter was decent, I will give them that much. But that doesn't excuse all the shitty downgraded artwork all around, Cherry being one of the best examples. The art never feels better than the first three games. They really missed the mark by a lot in this regard.
