This week, I want to talk about a well-known but very seldom discussed subgenre of anime: I am speaking, of course, about the black monstrosity archetype, AKA the oversized, superpowered machismo black supervillains of anime. Rather unsavory brutes, aren't they? Yes, these are the beasts who form the backbone of the anime supervillain genre of art. Testosterone courses through their veins, and their lust for murder, genocide and rape is unquenchable. This is what defines their motives for world power and global domination. But what do you guys think of the black monstrosity sub-genre of anime/manga? Is japan's depiction of black masculinity accurate? Or do you think these anime artists are misguided in their perspective of black men? Do you think they went too far in representing the raw, metaphysical adrenaline and testosterone these cruel-minded, black-hearted, congoloid super-giant macho men emanate from their heaving physiques? Please discuss. #StandWithJapan #EndBlackMasculinity

I think they are or at least were, but with the Chinese. The representation of Mr. Popo doesn't seem racist at all. If anything Mr. Popo representation reminds me of King Solomon from The Bible.

Well if Toriyama is a christian who drew influence from the bible then that would still make him a racist, because all christians are racists.

I doubt he is Christian. plus Solomon is not just Christian, his story is also in Jewish and Muslim religions.
Goku reference is Gukumatz from the Mayan Quiche people, which is basically the same figure as Kukulcan from the Toltecs, and Quetzalcoatl from the Aztecs, the feathered serpent, basically a figure that represents a deity that is basically half divine because the birds are the closest to heaven and half human because serpents are the closest to Earth. This deity came to teach love and perform miracles and is presented as a savior, which is something that has nothing to do with Christianity.
Then the kamehameha is a Hawaiian thing. So he basically has references from all over the world, so I doubt there is racism in that.
Even the R R Army is a mockery of Rockefeller / Rothschild families ruling the world. Basically families that had monopolies on Big Oil and Banking that faked losing those monopolies through elaborated splits.

Basically families that had monopolies on Big Oil and Banking that faked losing those monopolies through elaborated splits. EDIT: there's also Staff Officer Black from the original Dragon Ball, who is a villain drawn in black face. I'm not sure if that's who you were referring to in that last part of your post. It's crazy that this was from the 80s, since american cartoons stopped using blackface by the early 50s. So maybe Toriyama is a racist and I don't agree with the style of black face, but TBH I can't say I disagree at all with black macho men being used as villains in works of fiction. Black men are the apex of toxic masculinity. White men and black men act decent enough in their native continents, but once you bring them into the americas, they turn into absolute monsters, and all hell breaks loose. Black americans just like white americans are oversized, overbred, and overpowered, often exploiting areas of conservative politics like school sports, major league sports, police academies and the military to gain immense amounts of power in society. Tim Scott, Hershel Walker and Eric Adams are three of the most powerful politicians in America right now, and all three of these men acquired their power either through major league sports, sports scholarships or police academies. All in all, black men possess an extreme physical advantage over all other races through their absurd levels of toxic masculinity; said masculinity is preventing peace and equality across the americas. Something needs to be done to stop them, and it can't be by force. We need to empower women, american Indians, and the environment if we are to quash the black masculinity and the white masculinity that is blighting american society. It is the only way to achieve utopias in the americas. #EndToxicMasculinity

Try bulking up and it will help with the anxiety. You don't even need to be macho for that, just hit the gym and do 25 sets that you can split through out the week of every muscle, with small weight increments every 2 weeks, to start seeing results as soon as 6 months.

It's his latest obsession. From potato chips, gun control, to Michael Jackson, America combustion engines to concrete cityscapes, to movies having spaceships somehow promoting the enslavement of aliens. Now it's black men.

I'm not alone on this. The #MeToo movement and #EndToxicMasculinity hates african american men too. Make no mistake, I still hate all of that other stuff you listed. I still have plenty more to say about muscle cars, american trucks, Michael Jackscum, concrete dystopias, and the firearms industry, so stay tuned.

Imagine hating a concrete. Like you see a bag of rock dust and you explode into anger. Truly the most sane person of the Western sphere.

I have come to my conclusion: I do not believe that Japan is racist. I also do not believe that Japan was ever intentionally racist towards blacks, even in the past. Let me explain:
One definitive piece of evidence against the idea of Japan being racist is the fact that Osamu Tezuka and Akria Toriyama, two of the most revered leading members of the anime industry and the manga industry, have stated in interviews and in their biographies that their primary source of inspiration to become artists was western cartoons, namely early Disney. Studios like Warner Brothers practically made an industry out of blackface, but even Disney was guilty of drawing blackface too. Examples include Fantasia and the Censored Eleven.
The manga artists who were inspired by these products like Akira Toriyama and Ken Sugimori probably weren't even aware that the black community of the Americas had developed strong disagreements with this visual style by that time (the 80s and 90s). Japan is literally on the opposite side of the planet so it's only natural to assume that such a far-removed country that doesn't even have English as a native language wouldn't be aware of what is widely considered culturally insensitive in the Americas. Hell, most high-ranking american politicians at that time like Ronald Regan, Bill Bennet and George Bush senior hated listening to blacks and in many cases outright refused to pander to their needs, so it's not like America's leaders were relaying the right message to Japan at that time, either. Most old-world countries didn't seem to care about african americans until the Obama administration era (2008-2016). I don't think any country knew about blacks being mistreated or misrepresented until the (supposed) murder of Trayvon Martin in 2012 (I think). That was the first big Black Lives Matter uproar that I personally remember, although at least Obama managed to keep the event from becoming an official widespread riot.
I think Japan is innocent here. These manga artists were simply drawing influence from their favorite visual styles that they grew up with. I doubt any of them realized what they were drawing was offensive. I think they were just paying homage to a style of cartooning that they believed was classical or timeless.
