I heard somewhere that Anime art is based on cats, which makes all Anime fans some kind of furry, but I'm not sure if this is true or not.

I heard somewhere that Anime art is based on cats, which makes all Anime fans some kind of furry, but I'm not sure if this is true or not. Actually, based on what I know, anime in its earliest phase was inspired by Disney cartoons. Osamu Tezuka admitted that one of his main inspirations as an artist was Disney animation. Maybe that's why I detest the look of those really old animes from the 50s like Astro Boy, since it looks like Pinocchio or Peter and the Wolf, except without the high cell count Dinsey had. Thankfully, anime had already matured a lot by the 60s with Speed Racer, which still looks impressive to this day (at least in my opinion) and a show which jumpstarted the whole "bishonen" craze in art that anime is famous for and still practices nowadays. Without Speed Racer, the world would never have gotten the likes of all those legendary femboy heroes like Roy and Link to save us from ugly, oversized, machismo body-building super villains like Ganondorf and Arnold Schwarzenegger. You can't spell "Schwarzenegger" without "war". This is why we need legendary femboy anime heroes like Link and Roy to enter the forth dimension and save us from all of these butt-ugly, oversized, machismo, burly, belligerent, fat, cleft-chinned, beady-eyed, far-right, big-nosed, war-mongering asshole political leaders like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Donald Trump, Chris Christie, Clive Palmer, Greg Gianforte, Ron DeSantis, and others. Anyway, anime only got better since the 50s, but Dinsey didn't. ironically, I think that was the decade where Disney's animation quality flatlined, and it actually got worse decades later (kinda). Gotta give points to Japan here for actually moving the animation medium forward with all that ambition.

Arnold SchWARzenegger really is a man of war, isn't he? Of course he’s a man of war. That’s why Arnold rules. Not only is he a man of war, he’s also a man of action. Have you ever seen Commando? When that son of a bitch Bennett kidnapped his daughter, Jenny, we saw how awesome Arnold is as a man of war and a man of action. Not even an extraterrestrial hunter like the Predator could stand to the might and power of Arnold. Even Satan himself could not stop Arnold when he took action. You see, this is why Arnold is cool. Even you, now faces with the UNDENIABLE TRUTH, have to concede that Arnold is awesome.

I just made another lengthy rant about him in the Starship Troopers thread if you're interested. Jackie Chan is the all-natural macho man with the plan, unlike Arnold, who had fake muscles and didn't even perform his own stunts. Jackie Chan might be a bit crazy IRL, but when it came to cinematic fighting and stunts, he was authentic. He checked out. He was legit. And he could not be defeated in that regard.

cobretti Spirit Bomb STFU Revuw thyme: This synopsis can be boiled down to "kid has a trippy dream where his friend's ghost comes to bid him goodbye". The full meaning of the movie still eludes me. It's a bit of Alice in Wonderland/Studio Ghibli, in space, with pre-20th centruy knowledge of space. But it wasn't made by Studio Ghibli. There are flying geometric shapes, orchards where birds turn into fruit, birds that turn into pastries, and of course, thte ghost train.. There's even an excavation of a city city sized cow skeleton. They meet some people who went down with the Titanic, but I couldn't discern why they didn't fight more fervently for their lives. I guess it was supposed to be a lesson in accepting death, but... P.S. There were kids in the comment section, saying that the two mains were gay. But people have also said that about Frodo & Bilbo, also Mr. Miyagi and Daniel Russo (eww!). Bloody kids!
