I want to play the Fire Emblem games we never got, but who knows when I'll get around to it.

I want to play the Fire Emblem games we never got, but who knows when I'll get around to it. Same. The problem is that there are SO MANY! Something like five or six (maybe even seven?) games that were Japan exclusive until we finally got The Blazing Blade (AKA "Fire Emblem") on the GBA in 2003 or so. Even the DS had a Fire Emblem that the west never got; I think it was only a remake like Shadow Dragon was. EDIT: Yep, looking at wikipedia confirmed that it was a remake of the SNES sequel to Marth's first famicom game. Seemed like remake. I usually detest the Fire Emblem remakes, but considering how much better/more faithful the production artwork seems to be with those DS remakes, I would be curious to play them. Now that I mention it, I think I should've told Centipede to make threads for the Marth Fire Emblems (I believe there were no more than two of them). Marth wasn't nearly as well developed a character as the other Fire Emblem lords, but he nonetheless remains by far the most famous of the Fire Emblem femboys. He was the ORIGINAL Fire Emblem femboy. His games STARTED the series! AND, to add to that, he was the very first FE lord that the entire western world encountered when he featured in Melee. I don't talk about Marth as much but TBH he deserves way more credit than myself and the other Fire Emblem fanboys give him. Anyway, I've noticed the lack of localization is a big problem with other great JRPG franchises too, most infamously the Dragon Quest franchise. Despite the fact that it is by far one of the most lucrative franchises in RPG history with tens of millions of games sold, the west never got most of the games. Same problem with the Mother games and even Final Fantasy. The only Mother game the west got was Earthbound, AKA Mother 2. I get that translations for RPGs are very time consuming and difficult, but it's essential to the preservation of video game history for all us western gamers.

I just want to say that I think there's no reason why Sigurd, Seliph and all the other "forgotten" Fire Emblem lords shouldn't have appeared in Smash Brothers by now. Don't get me wrong, I think Brawl, Sm4sh and Ultimate are some of the biggest pieces of shit to ever hit the fighting game genre, but that still doesn't mean that the FE lords of yore deserve to be left out of Smash or some other modern crossover fighters that have yet to be made.
I recently made a thread about characters that SHOULD have been in Smash by now and there were a LOT of Fire Emblem lords that I included on the list (at least nine I think), including some of the franchise's villains. And just yesterday I realized at least two more FE characters that should have been included in the roaster, too. Go take a look, I posted it in the Nintendo section.
If Nintendo isn't going to bring classic FE titles like Genealogy of the Holy War to the west, then they should at least lend some of their protagonists to a crossover fighter, not necessarily just Smash.
