I watched it today, it's a great celebration of CGR's 25 years. The Evercade looks quite nice and I'd never heard about some of those games, although most of this first episode was really about CGR itself - the graph part gives a better idea of what were Mark's plans when the show got really big (he really was trying to build a competitor to networks like IGN), why the show ultimately failed (the first big hurdle being suddenly having most of the videos demonetized due to Youtube automatically tagging them because of the games' music) and why it's back (good for marketing and editing flows easier being built around Omega Ronin's music, which must also avoid demonetization issues).

Despite him rehashing (for understandable reasons) his old reviews, I feel like I've come home, watching him back on Youtube.
He still needs to dye his hair.

Episode 3 has a review of Mechwarrior 5, which I didn't even know existed and looks awesome:

Episode 4 is all about Robotron. I absolutely love that game! I still need to get a hold of the Nintendo 64 game.

I’m curious if mark will continue to do shorter videos or stick to the longer format. Engage disco!

I’m curious if mark will continue to do shorter videos or stick to the longer format. Engage disco! I'm hoping it is a healthy mix of both. Not everyone has the time for an hour show like he had on Amazon. However, I do like the in depth shows to round things out.

I will admit that I was a little amused to hear Mark talk in a recent 2085 episode about why he got away from the CGR podcast, as it wasn't serving its purpose... ...and now we've had two weeks of CGR Podcast while he determines what to do with 2085. Now...this isn't intended as a complaint. I've liked previously when Mark has done CGR podcasts, and I like these episodes too. And the CGR Forever Stream has been fun to pop in, so I think that was a really good idea. I also know Mark does tend to pivot immediately when things aren't working, sometimes too quickly, but I hope he does finish the second season of 2085. Aside from celebrating the 25th anniversary, I thought the point was to finish the second season this year, and sell physical copies. I'm looking forward to buying my copy, so I hope he doesn't drop that plan. But whatever form it takes, it's been great to have CGR back

And the CGR Forever Stream has been fun to pop in, so I think that was a really good idea. It was a brilliant idea. Just today I was doing some chores and left the tv on the Forever Stream, it's great for when you want to watch/hear some random reviews. I got the impression from the podcast that Mark won't do more 2085 episodes and will instead go back to the usual reviews. To be sincere, while I love the longer episodes and behind the scenes stuff, I think the shorter reviews are more rewatchable in the long run and easier to hook new viewers. Besides, I think 2085 episodes are getting roughly the same viewership as the shorter reviews while being much more work, so while I hope Mark doesn't completely drop it, they seem to be better as something that he does once in awhile instead of being the main CGR videos.

That's understandable. I'd be fine with it as a sometimes thing. Maybe 12-13 episodes by the end of the year, and that's all he needs for a blu ray set for season 2. Heck, I hadn't realized until the recent re-release that season 1 was more that 13 episodes, because that was all that had gone up on Patreon before he closed it. I hadn't realized there were later another 9 on Amazon, and 2 more unreleased, though all were part of the recent bluray/digital re-release.
