Capcom knows his audience. These amazing news dropped on the Nintendo Direct. We are getting all these incredible arcade ports injected directly into modern home consoles with online play and rollback netcode. Apparently devs were finally able to understand the Dreamcast/Naomi architecture, and now we enter an era where we can live the dream. The gems include: - Capcom Vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro (also on Dreamcast) - Capcom Vs. SNK 2 Mark Of The Millennium 2001 (also on Dreamcast) - Capcom Fighting Evolution (also on Namco System 246) - Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper (also on Naomi) - Power Stone (also on Dreamcast) - Power Stone 2 (also on Dreamcast) - Project Justice (also on Dreamcast) - Plasma Sword Nightmare Of Bilstein (also on Dreamcast) All the titles are releasing in 2025 through the Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

For some reason there is no Tech Romancer, which is also on the Dreamcast, and it seems Sony's ZN-1 and ZN-2 hardware hasn't be crawked yet. So there are some omissions still: - Final Fight Revenge - Jojo's Bizzare Adventure - Rival Schools United By Fate (prequel to Project Justice) - Star Gladiator (prequel to Plasma Sword) - Street Fighter EX (from Arika) - Street Fighter EX2 (from Arika) Also missing: - Street Fighter EX3 (from Arika for PS2 hardware) - Tasunoko Vs. Capcom (Wii based arcade hardware) - Fate/Unlimited Codes (Namco System 246 hardware) Considering we already have all other major Capcom arcade games through: - Street Fighter 30th Anniversary - Capcom Fighting Collection - Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle - Capcom Arcade Stadium - Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium We are now really close to just having everything if somehow we also get a port of Alien Vs. Predator. However I'm really psyched for what we are getting already.

"Breaking news":It didn't make sense why Capcom was announcing such an incredible collection lineup of their best arcade fighters from their coolest arcade era, specially so close after the Marvel Vs. Collection was announced, which hasn't even been released yet, and still, they dropped the second bomb already. Well, apparently someone stole Hideaki Itsuno from Capcom, the one responsible for all those games in that collection, after 30 years of work. Mark told the story how devs used to pick nicknames so other companies didn't take them away. Well, they stopped doing it now, and it seems now they are all over. The same thing happened at Konami, and SNK, so no wonder it is happening here too. However the good news is that he isn't retiring. Apparently there is a new game from him in the works, just under a different umbrella brand. He said he is living today, so I guess he can't yet say who are the responsible ones, but I'm pretty sure it will come out sooner or later.

stratogustav - Maybe Itsuno himself planned this collection as his "last hurrah!" before leaving Capcom?

I have some ideas of why the whole thing went down the way it did.
To add some context I believe the Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection was launched because Marvel is promoting many X-Men related things this year including X-Men '97 through Disney Plus, Deadpool Vs. Wolverine at theaters, ongoing X-Men Marvel Legends action figures, and their newest X-Men Comics subscription through Marvel Unlimited, so it was in their best interest to have something beloved gaming related, and it was both, Capcom and Marvel, that took the opportunity for the collection.
For Capcom's Fighting Collection 2 the case is different, first of all, the first mostly Darkstalkers collection didn't initially do as good as planned, so there was no follow up planned, however it has been catching up recently, and it seems it is starting to do good, but the real reason a second collection was made, in my opinion, is to honor Hideaki Itsuno that was leaving Capcom this August, which is why every single game in the collection is a game he worked on one way or another.
Normally, Capcom wouldn't announce two fighting collections back-to-back next to each other like that, I mean even Marvel Vs. Capcom Collection hasn't even been released yet, but they did it because of the timing regarding Itsuno leaving, and to take advantage of the hype for the Marvel Vs. Capcom Collection getting a date release announcement, also on the following scheduled Nintendo Direct.
The good news is that if these collections sell well, particularly if Itsuno's collection sells very well next year, there is a very high possibility for a third collection. Some of the games required some heavy licensing work around, but Capcom always honors good sales and they will make it happen if that's the case. Knowing Capcom, the included games will be:
- Ultra Street Fighter II - Fate/Unlimited Codes - Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom All-Star Battle - Sengoku Basara X - Star Gladiator - Rival Schools United By Fate - Final Fight Revenge - Alien Vs. Predator
Sadly, it is very unlike that the Saturday Night Slam Masters will be released since Capcom considers them as Sports games, also neither it will be Street Fighter The Movie, or any of the Street Fighter EX games since Arika is now doing their own thing with Fighting EX Layer.
The good news is that if Fighting Collection 2 sells well, the third one will happen with those games, and yes, they do have some copyright holds, that current Capcom would not have an issue overcoming.
Another thing is that it seems any game that had a Dreamcast release is in line for the grabs now that they finally properly figured out the architecture, including anything on Naomi, and it is because of this that the good news is that these other Capcom games also have a chance to appear:
- Tech Romancer - Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Heavy Metal Geomatrix - Cannon Spike - Mars Matrix - Giga Wing 2 - Super Street Fighter II X For Matching Service - Vampire Chronicles For Matching Service
Which would also be super amazing to say the least.

Any non-Capcom DC games coming out? I have seen some variety already published by City Connection on multiple platforms like Steam, Playstation, and Switch.
