I'm going to review a game I played on my vita called akiba's trip. Never played the first one cause it was only released in japan and I cant speak japanese. I think this needs to be turned into an anime honestly. This one was kind of hard for me to write but I did the best I could. For me the problem is always getting started with a review like this.
Location:The game takes place in a Faithful Recreation of Japan's Electronics Mecca. All major outdoor locations have been recreated with 130 shops accurately represented. You can go in every shop you see and buy things.
Combat:The game is mainly brawler style combat with Lots of different weapons to choose from and pretty much anything can be a weapon. You can gain weapons by defeating enemies who drop weapons or you can buy them. Weapons such as computer monitors, police batons, baseball bats, keyboards, guitars all that good stuff, However I found the police baton to be really effective more so then others weapons I tried. To defeat an enemy you strip them of there clothes. When there article of clothing turns red thats when you can strip them but they can also do the same to you so watch out. You have to hit them enough times with your weapon to get there clothes to turn red and then they are vulnerable but they also have to have a 0 for there article of clothing health. You can chain attacks together and if enough enemies get close to one another you can go on a chain and strip clothes off multiple enemies assuming you hit the right button at the right time of course. You can gain clothes by looting them off fallen enemies and add them to your inventory but I think you can also buy them just not sure on that.
You can also get in an area where you can refresh your clothes back up to full health by pressing a button,I advise though to make sure your in the clear before you do it with no enemies around or nearby. Weapon upgrades can be done by your little sister in her room. You have to pay her money though I believe. The game can be hard or easy depending on what difficulty level your on. You also earn exp for defeating enemies.
Story:You are part of the Akiba freedom fighters. You play as one of them who seeks out synthesizers with either one of the three girls on your side or in this games case 2 girls and one women. I'm not going to say to much on this since I dont want to give away to much of the story then again im not really sure what to say here.
Characters:Just going to go over the main characters in your group here.
Nanashi is the main character you play as during the game.
Pops is the guy who runs the bar at your headquarters.
Tohko the Childhood friend of the player character.
Shizuku the girl you meet and become more acquainted with throughout the story.
Rin who is a popular national singing idol.
Shion the women who is the head of a popular pharmaceutical company.
Nana the main characters little sister. She is kind of cute if I do say so myself. She sometimes likes to say things about her brother like "its his only redeeming quality".
Kaito is the older twin brother of Yuto.
Yuto the younger brother of Kaito.
Kati is a finish girl who came to japan because she is fond of jrpg's and anime.
Endings:Multiple endings are possible with a new game plus option. Also I believe you can end up with one of the girls at the end but I did not have that happen on my first playthrough.
The tech:You are presented with an in game smartphone. This kind of adds a pop culture feel to the game. You can manage your quests through here, check email, read comments on a fictional version of social media called pitter, catalog ad flyers, and launch apps to identify enemies. Biggest problem for me with the quests was finding people in a massive city even though they say where they are they just dont pinpoint it on the map.
Overall this is a fun game. I think it should be turned into an anime honestly. I just wish it was a little longer but I didn't do all the side quests only the main one so maybe thats why. I was also hoping for a continue the game after you beat it option but thats no where to be seen. I went in and expected a totally perverted game but I got something else. I got an enjoyable brawler game with fun combat, wide and unique weapons variety, cool characters, and a story to top it off. Yes I would recommend this game as its available for the vita,ps3,ps4, and PC. Who would have that a game which the concept was so odd yet endearing with a unique gameplay style could bring out such feels. I know I had feels after I played it.
