Dan E. Kool What do you think? The media says whatever they're paid to say. Maybe it is rigged, however. The President is just the face of the nation, not the head.

Well it is rigged. Ask the Bernie supporters, and, with the recent Wiki Leaks stuff, voter fraud does exist. Paging Eric Holder. When Trump talks about rigged elections, he isn't wrong. The Project Veritas videos, some of the e-mail Wikileaks has dumped has shown a clear intent to cheat in this election. HRC and the DNC also cheated Sanders in the primaries. And its not like Democrats get to act like these elections are some sort of sacred thing thats incapable of being rigged. They spent the last sixteen years crying about how Al Gore had the 2000 election stolen from him. And Trump is also right to question the polls. Most polls even admit that they have 15% more democrats responding over republicans most of the time. They are clearly being rigged to favor Clinton, probably to create the illusion that Trump can't win so his voters stay home.

Most polls even admit that they have 15% more democrats responding over republicans most of the time. They are clearly being rigged to favor Clinton, probably to create the illusion that Trump can't win so his voters stay home. Polls don't mean anything. People that watch CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, HBO, etc. are mostly Democrats so obviously polls will favor Democrats. The same can be said for a poll Fox News would make that would favor Republicans, but even the regular Fox channel has more Democrats, hense Family Guy, The Simpsons, etc.. Also the State matters. If Trump hangs out in California, New England, or New York, of course he is going to feel like he is about to lose. But just because coast States have the most people does not mean they have a say on who wins. You don't need to get the majority of votes to win. You need the majority of electorals, that's why Al Gore lost even when he had more votes. There are many States in the heart land that basically have no voters, yet their electorals are just as significant as those from States with multiple times more people. Trump can very well win just like Clinton. Now what happened to Sanders was expected for things I mentioned before. He had no chance to win even if he had all the votes. The same thing that happened to Sanders with the Democrat party happened to Ron Paul with the Republican party in 2012, for the same exact type of reasons. So that's why that wasn't a surprise.

I keep checking back in on this thread to make sure it isn't on fire yet.

The President is just the face of the nation, not the head. That is true in other countries, but not the United States.

The President does have many limitations here too though, without the support of the congress he or she cannot pretty much do anything. All three branches have the ability to prevent the other branches to do whatever they want. There are only very few exceptions and even those can still get revoked if it is not too late. On top of that there is under the table stuff that does not respect any branch and act on its own, usually corporate actions that are irregulared or very hard to monitor.

I think I should throw my hat into the election ring. With my experience as an internet forum mod what could go wrong?

The President is still the single most powerful individual in the US. It's not like Germany, for example, where the Chancellor is the person of real power and the President is more or less ceremonial.
