It is solid now, Wii and Game Cube are both emulated on HD which is something even their original consoles can't even do. The Saturn has been emulated for ages. What the guy did accordingly to Cervantes is that now we can use the original hardware to emulate. The problem with newer gens is not that they can't be emulated is that many people still don't have the proper video cards on their computers to render 3D graphics as well as the 2D ones of previous gens.

Yep, the Saturn has been emulated for a long time. The first time I played Panzer Dragoon Saga was actually through emulation, and it was in 2006-7. It was not absolutely perfect, but I could finish the game. As stratogustav said, the recent breakthrough was a way to play the games, on the original console, using a usb stick (which makes possible to play on your Saturn even if the cd-drive breaks and also makes it easier to play downloaded games).
