Hey! So I'm sure everyone around here is familiar with Classic Game Room and Lord Karnage, but I wanted to know about other good channels to watch specially when I'm bored. Btw, I'm not a fan of make-up tutorial channels, just sayin'. The ones I know: • high tier (watching most of the time): — Super Best Friends Play - they promise nothing, deliver even less • mid tier (watching whenever they decide to so something cool): — Matthew Santoro - charismatic dude who makes videos about random facts, he doesn't double check them, though — Super Bunnyhop - great video game commentator, unfortunately he doesn't post often — Jontron - he never posts videos, so... yeah — Maximilian Dood - I actually don't watch him much, but he's great when it comes to Killer Instinct, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter, and making fun of himself — Cherry Crush - this girl is fun to watch, and she has an ASMR channel I've used at least once before, link should be in the info page • low tier (watching when whatever): — Angry Joe - he would be higher in there if knew what he was talking about during reviews — GameXplain - a Nintendo discussion channel that often suffers from "Nintendo specific alienation" and "Nintendo bias" — Cinemassacre - uh... This went from being my favorite internet show years ago to being cringeworthy, blaming Mike on it — The Sticky Paddle - used to be better, but is still home to the Creepy Gaming series, and that's cool — the deceased Rage Quit series was golden - Rest in pieces /prays

Dongled - Pixeltunes Radio podcast is a good listen when doing other things, but my sub is mainly for Dude, You Haven't Played This Game?! Only does about 10 reviews a year but they are high quality. Cygnus Destroyer/The LJN Defender - I enjoy all three of his different shows: Cygnus Destroyer, LJN Defender, and Innocent Until Proven Guilty. LusciousShowcase - Used to review mainly review repro cart games but has expanded quite a bit doing other stuff. Newb Gamer series can be pretty funny also. Dali Popka - Mainly specializes in original Xbox reviews, but has been branching out to some other systems a bit. CornshaqGaming - Reviews a lot of new indie games, especially on PS4. Play it Through series is a good watch sometimes also, has helped me get through a few hard games. BenevolentDick - Doesn't do as many reviews anymore but the ones he has are really good. Also edited a lot of cool 8-bit trailers for NES games based on movies. Jason vs. Dick series is pretty good also. Studio Mudprints - Mainly covers a wide variety of shmups with the Bullet Heaven reviews. Red's 3rd Dimension Gaming - Reviews a lot of new JRPGs and obscure japanese stuff. Not one of my favorite reviewers but he's a good source for that kinda stuff.

So Spider, most of the channels you've listed entail high production quality and massive subscriber bases both of which tend to matter very little in the videos/channels I watch. I have no intent to convert your tastes to match mine but just to give you a taste of what I enjoy watching, I'll categorize it accordingly: - News Channels - channels that are primarily dedicated to covering news but do branch out i.e. reviews, etc.
- GamingClerks - This is the largest channel (in terms of subscriber base) I'm going to reference. GamingClerks are a charismatic bunch that covers gaming news and modern Nintendo/SEGA but their true shine comes out during coverage of trending/failure Kickstarters via Schnickshnack. They are German speaking but they cover anything from anywhere and will play videos/show images so you won't feel totally lost
Schnickshnack Zeit!
- SEGAbits - arguably the best SEGA news source due to their personable nature, Barry and George do a very good job at covering news from SEGA around the world as well as interviewing a number of key players in the SEGA-verse. They also have a great website that supplements what they do in video format as well as hosting a forum site I haven't much delved into. The two do have highly synchronized opinions quite often but they are unadulterated and are never imposing. They also frequently bring to light content that otherwise probably wouldn't see the light of day.
Cave Story ports to Genesis/Mega Drive
- Discussion Channels - channels that while they do reviews, they do more of a discussion format where they sit down and talk about the game without much editing (think my Resident Evil Revelations review).
- The Itch Network - hands down one of the channels I always look forward to content from. While Spencer is the key figure behind the operation, you can generally expect several people with lots of energy to make the video loud, humorous and exciting. Weekly content ranging from reviews to podcasts and upcoming games coupled with likable personality makes this one of my favorite channels on the 'Tube.
Star Fox Zero review (duo)
- thefunnynerd - despite the name, you're probably not coming to this channel for the comedy. thefunnynerd is a gamer who loves his RPGs from SMT to Fire Emblem as well as Final Fantasy and is a major proponent for handhelds and modern gaming. where he succeeds is in just being a very fun and passionate speaker and collector so you'll get a lot of early and post-play impressions (meaning he'll play games all the way through before speaking on them) as well as topic-driven videos that are by nature controversial.
Ethicality of corporate reviews
- SNESmapper - I learned a valuable lesson from this guy and that's that the most important aspect to having a good Youtube channel/video is quality audio. He has a lot of great impressions for modern games that are thorough and informative and make a great listen for multi-tasking purposes.
Mario Party 3DS impressions
- Review channels - I'm going to come back and edit this one later! Been at this for an hour already.

Cinemassacre is at least as good or better now than it used to be.

"Core-A Gaming", hands down. I wish he made more videos. The quality is outstanding and he is very relatable to Western audiences considering the dude lives in Korea.

Well, since all the channels I used to like have gotten real jobs and the ones left are CGR and a bunch of Valve/TF2 channels. I'm going to mention one that I'm sure 90% of everyone here hasn't heard about.
gggmanlives.
He is an... interesting reviewer, he reviews one kind of game and one kind of game only; first person shooters for the PC. One would think by specializing in one single genre he would eventually run out of games to review but as it turns out the market is so oversaturated with them that the sucker has been running the channel for around three years posting videos constantly and he still has to get around reviewing some popular ones like Serious Sam 3.
Taking into account the last week game's review here is his review for Metro 2033

Cinemassacre is at least as good or better now than it used to be. I agree. I'm sure those Mike streams would get old if I watched all of them but I don't.

I really like Mr.Nightmare
Mainly posts horror stories that people have experienced that are supposedly true. Home alone stories, fishing horror stories, paranormal stuff, ghosts, sleepover stories, disturbing stores, possible Bigfoot sightings, alien encounters, creatures that are not from this world nor are they any creature known to man, all that scary stuff. I like it. Of course I believe all these stories since im gullible but may also become paranoid watching these videos.

— Cinemassacre - uh... This went from being my favorite internet show years ago to being cringeworthy, blaming Mike on it Regarding Cinemassacre, I understand that Mike had a big hand in things since the beginning, and basically started appearing on screen more when James was off making the movie. Unfortunately, I just find his presence on screen very off-putting. So, I don't really enjoy the James and Mike Mondays, or anything else he appears in. Same thing with their friend Bootsy. Still happy to watch the AVGN stuff, and I actually like a lot of the newer reviews. Board James is more hit or miss for me, since it features appearances by the other two. I actually have that issue with a lot of video game related content on Youtube. I'll like one of the presenters, but dislike the other. Other examples include CGR Mark II (liked Mark and TJ, disliked Derek and most of the other rotating Undertow on-screen staff), and Pat the NES Punk (enjoy some of Pat's content, but Ian kind of annoys me). Credit to the Game Sack guys, as I enjoy both of them on screen. CGP Grey - short form, amusing explanatory videos on various subjects Easy Allies - the former GameTrailers staff. Shows are a bit hit or miss, but I like their podcast, reviews and the Patreon-only Cup of Jones show with Brandon Jones LoadingReadyRun - A comedy troop from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Years of back-content, much of it video game related. Probably best known to gamers for the video game satirical news show 'Checkpoint' that used to air on PATV, and Unskippable on The Escapist PyjamaPants - musician/music teacher from Toronto, who does a fair number of video game covers Zombie Orpheus Entertainment - Lots of fantasy/pen and paper related comedy content. Washington-state based comedy troupe/production company. Their other wing is Dead Gentleman productions, which also has a Youtube channel Cartoon Drive-Thru - Channel for Matt Wilson featuring independantly produced animation shorts. Matt used to create the web-toon 'Bonus Stage' on Keenspot/Keentoons many years ago, where I first noticed him. Appeals to my sense of humor, but not for everyone. Extra Credits/Extra History - Short game commentary and history videos. Hit or miss, but they've been around for a while, so there's a lot of good stuff. Generally at its best when the writer James is not on screen. His writing is fine, but his screen presence is like a....I want to say nervous magician? How it Should Have Ended - Cartoons about various movies and they should have ended. Lots of super hero content. Output has slowed in the last year or two, but still pretty regular updates. HankandJed - Probably best known for their Battlefield Friends series, I mostly know them through Doraleous and Associates.

No Cinemassacre is still awesome. But a channel which has gone pretty stale is everything from Rooster Teeth. I used to watch pretty much everything from their channels, but the last 2 years I've stopped watching almost all their shows. Even RvB just had their worst season yet this year.

Wow! I didn't know you guys would know so many channels! Well, please bear with me because I won't be able to check them out quickly. The first one I checked was Mr. Super Bunnydumps' channel, in part because I already knew the guy, I just wasn't well aware of what he does. To make it easy for everyone to understand, he is a successful version of Rich from ReviewTechUSA in the sense that he is actually a commentator and he actually knows what he's talking about. So, great find. I'm going to add the ones I know in the first page too so I can share what I know with everyone, but just looking at your reponses it seems like everyone is writing great descriptions. About Cinemassacre, uh... You know, Balder, I don't think the content remains good... When it was just James' AVGN, Board James and horror movie reviews series the site was great, the content was consistent. As they began to develop other types of videos - specially after the movie - people who enjoyed James' kind of humor dealt with Mike's type of humor (which I find generally weaker) and game reviews, but it was the latter that threw me off enough for me to stop following their material. What I see today when I go back there is just... Not great... I think James' videos have suffered too, don't know if the Ghostbusters fiasco had a personal effect on him, if they did then I hope it goes away.

There is a nice little channel I've been watching for a while now. It's called console wars- basically the premise is they take two similar (or one exact same) games from the SNES and Genesis and compare them. Here is an episode comparing Final Fight 2 to Streets of Rage 2:
They are still a pretty young channel, so keep that in mind.

The thing that cracks me up about cinemassace is how old and out of touch they've become. All their let's plays are way behind the hype. Goat Simulator was probably most guilty of this, but even Pokemon Go was kinda late.
Respect to James though for realizing that sometimes a series just needs to be retired (for the most part).
