I definitely trim down my game selection now and then. Mostly things I haven't played in years, or games I don't intend to play again. Might as well get those back into the world to be enjoyed.
I've been doing that slowly with a lot of my pen and paper games as well.

@dan E. Kool why do you have to get rid of your games? I plan on moving to Germany soon. The last time I moved over seas the movers "lost" all of my games, so this time I'm just gonna sell (most of) them. That way I know they went to a good home and I save money on moving. Still a bummer, though Oh well. I'm sure I'll start collecting again in Germany, but I'll probably stick to handheld consoles from now on. At least til I get back to the US. |

It's easy for expensive stuff to get lost when thieves are taking care of it for you. I found out later online that that shipping company has done the same thing to other people before. I guess some people are just totally fine with being an ass****. It'll get back to him, eventually (I hope). Just type @ "dan3kool." I had to make my username that way because it wouldn't let me sign up with spaces or periods or something - can't remember exactly what the issue was. But it'll reformat it to "Dan E. Kool" if you do that. |

In my youth, I was often encouraged to sell games for either the next console iteration or for moving away to college. I've only retained several games and a number of cases from that epoch of my life but since then have amassed enough to start a collection of my own much inspired by CGR. While I don't actively sell many of my games, I find having a sizable collection of consoles and games cumbersome so I try to downsize wherever possible before I start getting more games although lately, I've gotten in the habit of sending them to friends.

I buy and sell PS1's, 2's and original Xbox's in order to pay for my own games. It's slow money though, it can take months to get a buyer.
My collection is small enough that I'd never be able to part with anything from it but if I get games I can't use I sell them.
For example, I sold a couple PAL SNES games I got in a lot in a lot cause mine's NTSC (thank-you JJgames free international shipping).

thefurox JJgames don't have free international shipping. It's 3 bucks (it's still cheap though, but not free).
