leaon79s In a way we already live in a similar society. To get money you need to work, and working, unless is something you love, takes time of your life. So time is in many ways a big commodity of our culture, at least for the majority of people. Yeah that was the message of the film apparently. But just swap the time for teh munny though, and it essentially describes the corporate monopoly of our real world... I didn't know that about the Wakowski, I wonder if they just want to make an statement. A bit extreme for a statement I'd say... But don't let that affect your appreciation of their films though. They're talented people - that doesn't change. Everyone has their problems, and their own ways of dealing with them it seems... I'm a big fan of Unbreakable, you should definitely watch that if you haven't already. thefurox Thanks for the recommendation. It sounds like something I will like. I'll check it out. You haven't seen Unbreakable?? It's OK I guess - back when Shyamalan was supposedly this up & rising director... lol A strange retelling of the Superman Vs. Lex Luthor story. With everyone's favorite badass Jedi Master (Windu) being a comic crazy wierd-as feller... I thought it was mostly rather stale myself, up until the twist that is... Give it a watch, y'might like it. But go fer Cloud Atlas first.

leaon79s Now that you mentioned him, I can't even remember what the 6th Sense movie was about. I'll probably watch that one too, but like you said, I'll watch Cloud Atlas first, and someone mentioned Elysium, so that one too.

Elysium is on my to-watch list too. But it's better understood with the background of District 9 first, which Elysium is a far future follow up of... So I've been made to understand anyway. District 9 I've seen though. 'Tis an amazing filem. 9/10 Xenophobia of aliens confined in South Africa - yeah!!!

Sorry, one more recommendation and then I stop making new posts.
Does anyone remember Jericho?
For those that haven't seen it, it's awesome. Basically it's a series about a small town in the middle of nowhere getting completely isolated from the rest of the world after the United States is nuked to hell. It deals with the day-to-day life and new challenges that the inhabitants of the town have to face, from drinking hair dye because nobody thoutght about keeping iodide pills at hand to food rappidly rotting due to the lack of electricity to the reshuffling of power roles and change of priorities within the comunity.
It's by far one of the most underrated TV shows of all time in my opinion, a show that every Fallout fan should watch at least once and apparently is out on Netflix in it's entirety.

@guillion We love the recommendations, the more the merrier. It's cool this is on Netflix because I had to rely on piracy to find some of the stuff Leon is mentioning. leaon79s I saw District 9 many years ago so I could probably watch it again. Now I will do that before watching Elysium, but I'll watch Cloud Atlas first.

I don't have Netflix so I don't know what is/isn't on there. I think you'd like 2001: A Space Odyssey though, if you haven't seen it already.

My memory is not very good when it comes to movies so I am sure I will enjoy rewatching it. Thanks for the recommendation.

leaon79s I watched Cloud Atlas and I have mix feelings about it. See, I'm a fanatic of prog elements on music, but not so much when those ideas are applied to a narrative, which is why I also have mix feelings about Memento that comes from a director I like which is Christopher Nolan. I would say the segments individually were great, but when put together something was lacking and on each one as well. Usually this happens with projects that try to be too ambitious. They tend to hit or miss. I imagine they were aiming for a good critical reception by looking at the month of release, the length of the movie, the period piece subject inclussion, and the independent nature of the film, and considering there were no Oscars for it which doesn't mean anything bad about the film, it still means they didn't reach their goals. A comparison to video games could be Beyond Two Souls and No Man's Sky. Since I try to be neutral, I can see myself falling on both sides of the spectrum not knowing where I really stand. The truth is I could easily love it or hate it, and I guess that gives it relevance on its own. I still appreciate the recommendation, it was definitely a film I had to watch and it was entertaining overall. I guess knowing it comes from the Wachowski also helped that. By the way, I just finished watching Elysium and it is awesome. I really recommend it. Pimpjira I had been meaning to watch the IP movies for a while. They had been on my list. I'll definitely get those. Thanks for the recommendations, they look sweet.

I... haven't actually seen it myself... Although it has been on my radar for a while. It's kinda sad you didn't enjoy it that much. Maybe echoing a bit of the same aftertaste as Matrix Revolutions?...
But anyway, I will still have to see it for myself one of these days though. Elysium too, right after Interstellar (yes, not yet to my shame... ) Whell... to make up for it, I'll give you one more film suggestion. - Have you seen The Prestige ? This one I've seen. If you'd like to see more of Christian Bale, and like Nolan films, I highly recommend this if you haven't seen it already. One of Nolan's best imo, and among my personal favs. This is a 10/10. Ever wondered who will win if Batman fights Wolverine (i.e the clever fella VS the guy who regenerates his body) - this film will answer that. Sort of... If you've seen it, I'll try think of another one, but this is the best that presently comes to mind - my highest recommendation.Btw, weren't you really looking forward to No Man's Sky? The gheyme you've been searrching for all this time or something like that you said once a while back in the old forum? (lol)

Btw, weren't you really looking forward to No Man's Sky? The gheyme you've been searrching for all this time or something like that you said once a while back in the old forum? (lol) Yeah I saw The Prestige already. I really liked it, also The Illutionist, different concepts, but still on the same genre. I even bought it. And yeah I was looking forward for No Man's Sky but now that I have KOF, Ikagura, Caladrius, Snake Eater, and hearing the reviews, I kind of lost the interest. My brother got it though. He tells me he has played the life out of that game. He lives on another house, so I haven't checked it out myself. By the way, I just got deja vu somehow.
