Inspired by m.youtube.com/watch?v=xkaU-SlSXt4Have you ever experienced burnout? Did you sell all or part of your collection because of it? What actions do you take to prevent burnout?

No one is forcing you to keep buying, so just give it a rest for a while. Your bank balance would thank you. Maybe you're losing interest in collecting anyway, so just let it go.

Do other stuff than collect. Play your video games instead of having them sit on a shelf all day. I had this problem not too long ago where I was buying 10 times more games than I could play.

On Saturn I misinvested my money into overpriced bad American games, then when I finally got a schmup for it I realized I don't have the reflexes for bullethell. Bored, I moved to pastures new. My new rule with my collecting is that if I don't at least think I want to play a game I won't buy it unless it's dirt cheap. Also I don't buy a retro console without trying some of the AAA titles via emulator or a friends place.

The best thing you can do is preoccupy your time with something work/school/peer related. Certain shooters like the Darius or Raiden series were made to be enjoyed together so that's a good way to knock out to birds with one... bullet.
