I'm always hesitant in buying new games nowadays as opposed of before because I'm noticing I have so many games that I started but haven't really finished. With some I had gotten further than others, I have a few that are almost at the end, but many are just at the better beginning too.
So for not finishing these games I blame fighters, racers, and shmups, which are games I feel more compelled to play at a regular basis.
What's interesting is that I really love many of these games. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is one of my all time favorites already because every time I sit down to play that game I really enjoy it.
To give a perspective I didn't play and finished Shadow Of The Colossus until 2014, and that game came out in 2005, so I wonder if my list of my old time favorites would change if I actually finish some of these games.
As of right now Shadow Of The Colossus is in 4th for me, but I doubt that will change because I really loved that game. I played it on my 135 inches projector screen on 3D and it was terrifying, one of the best experiences I ever had.
Another factor is that I usually finish my Nintendo games first, and leave these for last. I recently finished Star Fox Zero for example, and that game came out this year.
The one game I didn't mentioned that I haven't finished either is The Return Of Shinobi, but I don't count that one because I would had finished that game already if it wasn't because I suck really bad at that game and get killed every time, and the same can be said for Ikagura and Gradius V which I absolutely love despite that.
So what games you own that have not finished yet?

Back in the SNES and N64 I used to finish all the games I had. Honestly props to Mark for actually finishing the games before reviewing them. He finished Uncharted and Uncharted 4. In Uncharted I'm still like in chapter 22 I believe. That speaks about his integrity and I'm sure many fans appreciate the hard work.

I just bought a lot of DS/3DS games, so it'll take a long time to beat them. Also, while I've beaten a LOT of my pc games this year, I have focused on the shorter ones. As a result, there are some pretty impressive games that I haven't even touched yet, like Dark Souls 2, The Witcher 2 and Dragon's Dogma: DA. At least I played MGS 5 and Valkyria Chronicles this year, so I've fulfilled my quota of "80+ hours" games for this year. One game that is sitting on my shelf for years that I really regret not having played yet is Red Dead Redemption. I'll find time to play it soon, maybe in December or January. Also, there are some japanese games for my Saturn (mostly jRPGs/SRPGs) that I'll only play when I learn enough japanese to go through them, which will take a few years. In general, I try to beat every game I have; that's also why I've been pretty selective about which games to buy. I don't even buy bundles anymore, even when they're pretty cheap, unless I was already interested in the games (like in the latest Ubisoft bundle, which came with Call of Juarez: Gunslinger).

I feel bad for people with JRPGs backlogs. That's no joke.
Like for example these are just some popular JRPG games in the PS1 of the many they had:
- Arc The Lad - Arc The Lad II - Arc The Lad III - Arc The Lad Monster Tournament - Atelier Elie - Atelier Marie Plus - Alundra - Alundra 2 - Azure Dreams - Battle Hunter - Bealphareth - Beyond The Beyond - Blue Breaker - Brave Fencer Musashi - Breath Of Fire III - Breath Of Fire IV - Brigandine - Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon - Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon 2 - Chrono Cross - Chrono Trigger - Dewprism - Digimon World - Digimon World 2 - Digimon World 3 - Dragon Quest IV - Dragon Valor - Dragon Warrior VII - Deception Invitation To Darkness - Embrace In The Sand - Epica Stella - Final Fantasy Origins - Final Fantasy Chronicles - Final Fantasy IV - Final Fantasy V - Final Fantasy VI - Final Fantasy VII - Final Fantasy VIII - Final Fantasy IX - Final Fantasy Tactics - First Queen IV - Front Mission - Front Mission 2 - Front Mission 3 - Front Mission Alternative - Grandia - Guardian's Crusade - Harvest Moon - Jade Cocoon - Kartia The World Of Fate - King's Field - King's Field II - King's Field III - Koudelka - Legend Of Dragoon - Legend Of Heroes III - Legend Of Heroes IV - Legend Of Legaia - Legend Of Mana - Legend Of The River King - Lunar Silver Star Story - Marl Kingdom 2 Little Princess - Oasis Road - Parasite Eve - Parasite Eve II - Persona - Persona 2 - Popolocrois - Rhapsody A Musical Adventure - SaGa Frontier - SaGa Frontier II - Shadow Tower - Spectral Tower - Spectral Tower II - Star Ocean The Second Story - Suikoden - Suikoden II - Tales Of Destiny - Tales Of Eternia - Tales Of Phantasia - Threads Of Fate - Thousand Arms - Vagrant Story - Valkyrie Profile - Vandal Hearts - Vandal Hearts II - Vanguard Bandits - Wild Arms - Wild Arms 2 - Xenogears
Can you imagine a PS1 Mini with those games and trophy support? It would take ages for anyone to finish those games, let alone plat them.
By the way, if I didn't know all the other many genres that were covered on the PS1, one could argue it was the JRPG machine of its time, considering the N64 and the Saturn almost banned the genre.
Good thing I never got into the genre besides a few action titles, otherwise my backlog would be insane by now.

God, it's just too many. I have about 600 games, where a 100 of them I've never even tried. This is why I don't buy so many games anymore, but I'm working on playing them all. Right now I'm playing through all of my PS3 games.

Too many. I'm pretty good about finishing the physical games I buy, but my record is much more spotty with anything digital, particularly a lot of content from my PSN+ subscription and PC games purchased in various humble bundles or Steam sales.

PSN+ games don't count. I don't count those unless I was going to buy them anyway. If you leave those behind I would say it is totally acceptable.
I mean games should never feel like a chore or it loses the purpose, unless it is legitimately your job, like a tester or something like that.

Bruh have you ever seen my Steam backlog? Just ask Cervantes or fsfsxii about it. I can attest that Guilion will need a few reincarnations before he goes through all of his games. He's running against universe's entropy by now.

Where do you find the time to make these endless lists? Hahaha, sometimes I just remember things so I just type on the phone, and check Google if I miss anything. My phone makes a lot of typos, so sometimes I do spend time correcting my spelling. I'm usually on the go, so I use my phone a lot for checking on you guys.

I guess I imagine the alphabetical order makes it easier for reference use. That is still a funny observation though. I guess I just have severe OCD.
