I can't believe this is a mobile game. It was a launch title for the system back in the day and it still awes. This is exactly the kind of game I had been asking for ages, and it is crazy to think it is in my cellphone. I use my DS4 and Bluetooth headphones and the experience is solid. It does feel like you are shooting down alien ships on orbit. I tried Eve Valkyrie at a Best Buy demo and you can't hardly tell the difference. The PS VR is smoother and nicer, but the experience is about the same. I'm really blown away we can have these kind of wireless experiences on the go. It really makes you feel we are living in the future.

No, but that looks awesome. What's the lag time like?

No, but that looks awesome. What's the lag time like? I don't experience lag, but that just represents my lack of first person shooting skills. I'm sure people trained for first person shooting would experience lag, but someone on my level won't see it. You do run the risk of shooting more bullets than you are supposed to when the ships are far away, it is easy to miscalculate the amount of bullets you need before they reach the enemies if they are far. When they get close however it is easier to be more accurate with how much shooting you need to do, but your reaction time must be a lot faster as well because of the proximity of the enemy ships. You need to plan your ammo well because reloading ammo half way takes time since the pilot does it manually and this leaves a window of time where you are very vulnerable to get hit. Also for the levels you are on orbit and not completely out in space you need to be good with heights because if you look down you can have a good sense of how high you are and that may be challenging for people with fear of heights. The sound effects are stellar, bombs, missiles, explotions, and shooting in general sound awesome, but the Samsung S6 is not too powerful so in order to compensate for high visual fidelity the sound loses fidelity sometimes, not so much during gameplay, but definitely in the intro cut scene. Also your gameplay time is limited for as long as your phone does not get hot, but you can have some good 15 minutes of gameplay which is more than you need for an arcade experience like this which is super fun to play in chunks. The fun relies on obtaining 3 stars on every mission which encourages you to do good on the scoring for each level. This is a dream come true for me because this is the exact game I had been asking for ages, and now that is here it is much better than I could ever picture it because I didn't count with the VR element which makes it stand out even more. I wish it had a Star Wars skin which would make it perfect, but even without a license like that, as an arcade shooter this definitely competes with Super Stardust and Resogun.
