I just bought a copy of super mario 3d land for the 3ds and I like the game so far but I think I have a few problems with it. I feel like the game is a bit on the easy side and gives out lives to often. I'm already at world 3 and I just got the game today and by that time I had 18 lives saved up, 15 lives saved up by the time I got to near the end of world 2. I have so far never been in danger of getting the game over screen just because I have so many lives saved up maybe because the game is to easy? Was this game aimed more toward the younger crowd because I feel that way a bit?
Does anyone else like this game but feel that way about it? I think its tons of fun but are there really only 8 worlds in it? Is it that short?

I don't really have an issue with lots of lives in modern Mario games. 1-Ups are kind of a vestige of the older games, though one that still feels weirdly rewarding. (For example, it seems odd that they're even in Super Mario Maker, given that you don't carry over anything level-to-level). Game Overs don't really set you back once saving your position in a platformer is introduced. That said, I loved Super Mario 3D Land. Lots of interesting things to unlock, and a fair bit of replay value. Definitely some scaling difficulty as well. Regarding the 8 worlds... Finishing the first 8 worlds will unlock 8 more "special" worlds. Beating the first of the special worlds unlocks Luigi, who plays a bit differently, giving more replay value when replaying the older levels.

Yea I definitely like this game too. Thats cool that you can get more worlds to play in after you beat the game. Have you ever tried mario and luigi superstar saga for the gba? I think there's a game like that on the 3ds but im not sure if its any good or not. Someone said it was worth playing others said pass on it.

I have not! I'm sadly quite behind on either the Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi RPG titles. I've been meaning to go through them at some point, but just so many things in the backlog.
I've heard Superstar Saga and its sequels have some excellent, humorous writing though.

The challenge is in finding all the star medals, not so much in passing the levels. It is a fun game, I really like it.

Super Mario 3D World feels the same way, but it is just as fun too.
