Spirit Bomb oh well, I guess you can have 500GB now. I don't think you can install OG Xbox games without modding something (they don't typically allow you to do such things).

You're right. Looks like there were detachable hard drives sold in 320GB and 500GB sizes ( Wikipedia Xbox 360 Hard Drive Sizes). Doing a few google searches, it looks like there are only a few minor downsides to an external drive. You are limited to 2TB of space (which is pretty reasonable), and because it uses USB 2.0, reading from the external drive will be slower than the internal drive, but still faster than a game loading from a disc. According to this page ( Xbox 360 Support page about installing games), original Xbox games cannot be installed onto the 360. This may be different for a modded 360 of course. That said, I'm not sure this is the best place for the occasional hardware questions you have, Maestro. It was almost certainly be quicker to pop your question into google than ask the community here You the man, Khador. Thanks for explaining everything! But I just realized that if I buy a new HDD, that means I won't have access to any of my old game saves. That sucks.

That's actually pretty easy to do. Just transfer your saves to a USB flash drive before swapping the hard drives. Once your profile is loaded up with the new drive, transfer your saves back. Just think though, Microsoft only updated to allow USB drives to work for saves and games data after the smaller version of the 360 was released (if I recall correctly). When I bought my 360, in order to get my save data from my profile on my roommate's unit, I had to buy a proprietary memory card. USB would work for media and such, but not game/save data. Thankfully, the 360-S (and later 360-E) lack that proprietary port, so we got proper USB support

The 360 Arcade was pretty stupid considering the lack of storage. And the memory card didn't help when it was only 256 MB IIRC. Even worse was the Wii U with releasing an 8th gen console with only 32 GB! Even 7th gen consoles had 500 GB by then.

But when I insert the flash drive into the 360, where in the menu should I go to access it/add data to it?

Balder WTF MY FAR CRY 2 SAVES WERE LOST SOMEHOW! It said on the system that they became "corrupt". How shitty is that!? But I checked my GTA 4 saves and thankfully they were all intact. Not sure about any of the saves for my other games, though. Is there a way to fix this?

Spirit Bomb Do you still have your old hard drive? If so, just plug your 10GB hard drive back into the system, and it should still work fine with your profile etc. Then boot up Far Cry 2 and see if your old saves work. If they do, you can just copy them onto a USB stick again from the 10GB drive, and try copying them again onto the 500GB drive. Maybe they won't corrupt on the 2nd attempt.
