When you like a post, that's it. You got to stand behind your likes. Liking something, then unliking it - that's cowardly. I'm not going to name names, but there are some people here. And they know who they are. Now is not the time for cowardice. Sometimes mistakes are made, and that's fine. Maybe you just made a mistake. But the sanctity of the likes must never be questioned. Never.

I'm a big fan of Hironobu Sakaguchi. His games are fantastic.
I suppose if you want to go old school (this is the classic game room forum), then I would go with David Crane.

So many great names. I just remembered someone we haven't mentioned yet:
Yuji Naka - Sonic, Nights, Burning Rangers. As is the case with other developers of classic Sega games, his latest project was heavily sabotaged by its publisher, sadly. It really seemed like a return to form...

Satoshi Tajiri for Pokemon, duh. But also for Pulseman, a game I'd love to see a sequel for.

Least favorite (BY FAR): Shigeru Miyamoto. He destroyed many of my favorite franchises of all time (Zelda, Paper Mario, Super Mario, Star Fox, Smash Bros.) and I fucking despise him for that. He really is the biggest retard of the modern video game industry. A once great director, but now just a corporate cock-sucking hack. To be honest, though, I'm not that familiar with video game developers, despite the amount of time I've spent playing video games throughout my life. But I can say for sure that the art directors of Ocarina of Time, Fire Emblem Binding Blade-Radiant Dawn, Morrowind, & Soul Caliber 2 all get a big thumbs up from me. From a programing perspective, I have to admire Valve for their incredible work on the Half Life series. And Sakurai deserves a 7-foot tall platinum trophy for his EXTRAORDINARY directing job on Melee, even though his most recent SSB games have been lame and casualized (but that isn't his fault, its the producers). Yeah, I watched that video. I'm surprised his influence on Sticker Star's development wasn't brought up. Shoulda been a top 5 at least.

Apparently, Yuji Naka was just arrested for insider trading. I'm not exactly sure what he did (the article says he bought stock with secret information, but how he knew is left unsaid), but from what I've seen, the man had every right to be angry at Square Enix over Balan Wonderworld. Sonic Co-Creator Yuji Naka Has Been Arrested for Insider Trading Involving Dragon Quest

Aww man, that sucks. His life really took a turn for the worse since he got into Square-Enix.

Aww man, that sucks. His life really took a turn for the worse since he got into Square-Enix. The more I read about it, the more I feel like this is petty politicking. The charge is that he used insider information to purchase 10,000 shares of Aiming a month before they announced their partnership with Square in the production of a mobile game. He then made about the equivalent of $20,000 in a sell off. I don't know the ins and outs of Japanese law, is $20,000 a big enough financial windfall to be arrested for? I understand taking him to court if he broke the law, but immediate jail time seems excessive. My mind tends to wonder if this has to do with his bad break up with Square. Could they be using their influence to get revenge?
