One of my favorite games on the Genesis. Great colors, music, and gameplay.

I liked the artstyle and the idea behind it. I didn't get into the gameplay because games like Alien Soldier and Gunstar Heroes can easily spoil you, not to mention all the shoot 'em ups of the system.
I did buy it when it came out for the PS3 though. I feel other games like Altered Beast weren't that good either but they were important games, and people should definitely play them.
It is also normal to be in love of bad games. I personally loved Double Dragon V which is easily one of the worse games of all time, and one of the worse fighting games ever too.

One of the best looking games on the Genesis. I wish they'd make a sequel (but knowing Sega today, maybe it's better they don't).

Like stratogustav, I couldn't get into the gameplay, but the artstyle is one of the most impressive on the Genesis. This is a game I really wanted to like. A sequel could balance things out for the better, but, as Dan E. Kool said, I don't know if current Sega could do a good job on it.

I'd at least put it above Altered Beast and Golden Axe. I think out of all of the beat-em-ups of the 16 bit era, Comix Zone had some of the most satisfying combat. There were also some parts of the game that I really liked like the tournament and the wizard boss.
I can understand why some people ITT aren't huge fans of Comix Zone since beat-em-ups are usually very simple and shallow games. Comix Zone in particular is one of the few that stick out to me, although I can admit it's not entirely for strictly gameplay reasons.

I disagree on that one, but that's just me, I did like Golden Axe infinite times more, but maybe because I was using a fightstick on my PS3, the same goes with Streets Of Rage, specially Streets Of Rage 2 which are even much more better than Golden Axe.
Altered Beast wasn't that good either, but at least that one I can enjoy, and it didn't upset me as Comix Zone did. I still think Comix Zone has a very cool and unique idea, it is a very important game for sure.

I had a PC demo of this back in the day, it was on the data part of a Sonic The Hedgehog music CD. Didn't get to play the original Mega Drive game until I got the Mega Drive Collection on PS2 some years ago, and I still haven't played the original cartridge on original hardware.

Armored Core Raven makes a good point. A lot of games improve drastically on the original hardware. Usually having the original controllers suffices to me, but putting in a SNES cartridge inside the original console does really make a difference.

Awesome game. Loved it but I doubt I'll ever be able to beat it. It's unbelievably hard! Oh well, still less frustrating than the US version of Dynamite Headdy (seriously, what is it with Sega Genesis titles being so damn difficult?).

I always feel like such a schmuck when I play Dynamite Headdy. Glad to see I'm not alone.
