As you can see both are very impressive and it is hard for me to choose one over the other. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 or F-Zero GX? Daytona USA or Super Monkey Ball? Capcom Vs. SNK 2 or Wario World? I like Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, I like the Mario Party games and Double Dash!!, I like Metroid Prime and Toadstool Tour, I like Luigi's Mansion and even Super Mario Sunshine. However the Dreamcast has Cannon Spike, Giga Wing, Giga Wing 2, Gunbird 2, Zero Gunner 2, Bangai-O, Border Down, Under Defeat, and Mars Matrix. They both have Ikagura, they both have Crazy Taxi, they both have Sonic Adventure. How can anyone choose? You need both systems in your life.

I like the Gamecube, but it's very telling as to which is the better console when a good chunk of the games worth playing on it are Dreamcast ports. Still, the Gamecube had some games that I really enjoyed like Gotcha Force, Custom Robo, Wario World, F-Zero GX, Mario Kart, and that Kinnikuman game with the long-ass title. It also had a better controller. It would've been one of the best controllers too if the face buttons weren't so shitty. *edit stratogustavDamn I forgot all about Super Monkey Ball, that was on the Gamecube first wasn't it? I guess I forgot because I only ever played those games on the PS2.

Soul Calibur is also on Xbox 360. I would think that PC counts but that still doesn't invalidate much of that list, the ones that are readily available on Steam or GOG anyway. I checked on SoulCalibur for Xbox 360 and all I could find was an Xbox Live Arcade downloadable version, I wouldn't have counted that anyway as I don't count digital-only releases, just retail. I could've listed Dreamcast+PC exclusive releases as well because of this, as I said previously the original PC releases of Dreamcast+PC exclusives are almost impossible to find the PC versions of, only a select few that got re-released in bigger numbers by budget brand publishers can still be found with a bit of luck and detective work, the rest remain unavailable and can only be found for Dreamcast. But I didn't list any Dreamcast+PC exclusives as the list of exclusives available for Dreamcast only already (and arcade cabinets in some cases) made a good enough point as is. There are plenty of Dreamcast+PC exclusives to add to the list that if you wanna play any of them on console or physical release for PC they remain Dreamcast exclusives. I personally don't play much on PC, mainly old MS-DOS stuff these days, so for me the Dreamcast+PC exclusives are as much Dreamcast exclusive as any I listed in my previous post, I can only get them and play them on Dreamcast, digital download and PC gaming is not an option for me and they were never released on anything else. So, everything important on Dreamcast is available elsewhere these days? Still a rock solid nope on that one, a vast majority of the best stuff remains Dreamcast exclusive, with only very limited digital PC versions being the alternative in some cases, the rest are still purebred Dreamcast exclusives you can't get anywhere else.

stratogustav I'm so disappointed to see that every 007 game EXCEPT the one I care about made it onto your list. Goldeneye Rogue Agent is a very fun game! Honestly one of my favorite console shooters ever. The gameplay is just perfect IMO. Speaking of first person shooters, I totally agree with Mark when he said in his Quake III review that the Dreamcast controller is HORRIBLE for these kind of games. And that leads me to another point about the Dreamcast that irritates me: the controller only has six buttons! And no second analog stick, either! That's just unacceptable for the time it was released. I mean, the N64, PS1 and Sega Saturn controllers all had more buttons than that, and that was a whole generation before the Dreamcast! What a joke. Say what you want about the Gamecube controller's C-stick, at least it HAD one. It also had a bumper button (Z), which the Dreamcast controller did not have (coincidentally, this is one of the few complaints I have about the original Xbox controllers). In a nutshell, that's one of the main reasons why I prefer the Gamecube; IMO it's just a more comfortable system to play on, in addition to having more exclusives that really appeal to me. But that doesn't mean I think the GC is a flawless console, because I do have a number of problems with it. (I can go into more detail on this only if you guys want me to)

What a joke. I have played the Dreamcast using a PS2-to-Dreamcast cable, and I found that it was quite enjoyable. The controller definitely wasn't a high point for me. It was interesting to see the conversion cable had a spot for the VMU, which was neat. Sadly, it couldn't utilize the right analog on the PS2 controller to emulate the twin-sticks for Virtual On. I wonder if there are adapters that accommodate that these days.

MeleeMonk did you really like Rogue Agent? It looked a little rough around the edges to me, and it felt like they just wanted to cash on the GoldenEye brand, unlike GoldenEye Reloaded that was an actual competent shooter with Daniel Craig. I mean, I don't mind Sean Connery, he was the original James Bond, but at the time Pierce Brosnan was the man and it felt like they didn't give Connery the proper game he deserved. It was the only game out of all the 5 GameCube 007 games that didn't have the people from Visceral working on it. They are the ones that later end up making the well made Dead Space series. This is when EA was still good. It makes me kind of excited that they are working on the new Battlefront, I'm sure those guys would actually put a campaign on it. They are my favorite side of EA along with Will Wright Maxis stuff, I'm not very keen of Dice and BioWare, but maybe because I just haven't give them the proper chance. The Need For Speed and FIFA games went to shit with Criterion and the like. In fact I would say that Battlefield Hardline could had been so much more without Criterion involvement. EA made a big mistake on closing down Black Box, they did the good NFS and Skate games and without them I doubt of the future of those IPs.

stratogustav Yes, I absolutely LOVE Rogue Agent. It may seem like I'm trolling, since it's a pretty obscure title, but I promise you that I am 100% sincere on this. I honestly think it's a great game, very underrated in fact. It had a very meaty campaign, excellent gameplay, highly customizable multiplayer, nice production values, fun weapons, high challenge level....it's great! To be honest I'm actually not very fond of Goldeneye 64's single player, which had you running around here and there doing a bunch of boring tasks that detracted from the gameplay, and I don't think it has aged well at all, especially the controls (but that's a common complaint I have with literally all 5th gen console shooters). I much prefer straightforward action when it comes to FPS games. Although I am a bit disappointed that stealth was never an option in Rogue Agent, and the storyline itself wasn't really that compelling, but then again story means jack-shit to me so long as the gameplay's good, and it certainly was. Overall I found it thoroughly enjoyable. It's so refreshing to go back and play a good console FPS that doesn't play like CoD. I miss the days where every console FPS game was trying to mimic Halo's gameplay. Honestly I think Halo did first person shooting way, way better than CoD.

I respect that. However I was replaying the GoldenEye from the N64 on my Mini PC which is the last gen it can really handle properly, and it hasn't aged for me, it is still fun as always. The same goes for Perfect Dark, Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, and The House Of The Dead games of that generation. They were awesome then and still are today in my opinion.
Rogue Agent never felt right for me. Maybe because it was the only game I didn't play on the GameCube, instead I went for the PS2 version. So I really don't know. For me it was a big disappointment after playing all the excellent 007 games before it.
My love for the series was only revived when Activision took over after that game. In fact, I always say that Treyarch should straight up make 007 games and forget completely of Call Of Duty, but Call Of Duty is where the money is at.

I agree I never liked rogue agent. I never beat it either couldn't get past the last mission. I'd rather play anything then halo though and never want to touch an xbox again especially when they lost all there exclusives to pc.

Lol I played the original xbox and thought it was just ok and realized there was nothing really special about it. I even owned an original xbox for a while. The games for it were pratically worthless value wise and I had trouble just getting rid of them. Also played the 360 and thought there was nothing special about it either besides what exclusives it did have that are actual exclusives. Also xbox one games are available on pc now or are going to be. Why is there any reason for me to buy an xbox anymore when all there games are on pc? The 8th gen consoles are literally the reason I switched to pc.

I never played either. They came out during my video game self-imposed exile. I would get my video game magazines when they came out at the local Electronic Boutique, so I went in one day. I wanted to look at the Saturn games to see if they had anything interesting, but noticed they were all missing. I asked the clerk, and he said, "Sorry sir, they discontinued the Saturn."
Soooooooo.... I was rather upset with Sega.
At one time, I did want a Gamecube. For a brief time, I was infatuated with the Resident Evil franchise (must have been the first movie). At that time, Capcom signed an exclusive deal with Nintendo to release them on the console, so that kinda made up my mind. Looked forward to Resident Evil Zero... and then I saw a commercial for GTA: Vice City.
PS2 it is!

Judging by this comment and the one you made to Balder, it's seems like you have something against the FPS genre. I pray to god you're not one of those people who prefers CoD to Halo.... And either way you're wrong about the original Xbox. It's an awesome console, arguably the greatest console for local multiplayer ever. There were tons of great 6th gen multiplat games that never got a PC release, and they almost always played better on Xbox than PS2 or GC. Rogue Agent is a perfect example. You probably have never played Halo locally with friends, which is unfortunate. The times I spent playing Halo CE with friends and family are literally the best gaming memories I have. What first person shooters do you like, anyway?

What first person shooters do you like, anyway? No actually I am allowed to have my own opinion about the xbox original. I played one and thought it was just ok. I even played one when my friend had one back then and I wasnt to impressed. Now there are games I enjoyed on it when I owned one myself but they were mainly exclusives I played and they were good for what they were. The otogi games I thought were cool on the xbox as well as some other exclusives like wings of war. Those games I did enjoy playing on the xbox. I have played halo locally with friends and I didnt have much fun but we only played maybe once or twice a week. I was a pc gamer back during the 6th gen and didn't get my ps2 till later. As far as I was concerned console gaming was irrelevant to me until I got my ps2. As for fps games I do like I like ww2 first person shooter games. ww2 games with good stories and likeable characters are the fps games I like and definitely dont like any of these new cod games. I'd rather play pc then console though nowadays. I've always prefered single player games over multiplayer ones especially when the online community is just crap but local multiplayer was always tons of fun when I could get people over. Also most of the xbox's standout games are pc ports and pc plays them and upgrades them to be better then the xbox version. Most of the good games are just multiplats you can play on other systems and it has a small handful of good exclusives that are actually worth playing.
