If it's anything like Episode 7, I'm going to completely disregard any future episodes from now on. Episode 7 was more like a glorified fan fic.

It is Star Wars, so I'm going to watch it no matter how good or bad it is, but still... Uh... Episode 7 was mediocre, only Episode 3 was a worse movie, so I'm going in with low expectations.
But I really want the main series to step up and deliver movies good enough to be relevant outside of a series context.

I don't know about you, but I would've liked to have seen an adaptation of the post-RotJ novels, even if they're animated and don't include the original actors.

Episode VII was quite good, but wasn't very original. It had amazing characters though, which I'm looking forward to seeing again. R1 on the other hand was so bland and is one of the worst SW movie out of all of them.

Have to...Oh crud! I was a bit like that and Transfomers 4: Age of Extinction. When I should have known better after seeing the first three movies, I went to see it anyway! But never again, I'm giving TF5 a miss, like I did with the Bay TMNT movies! My childhood, MY CHILDHOOD!  
I really hope Episode 8 is better, but I won't be forking out money for a ticket until I read the reviews. Call me close-minded, but there.

Looks fantastic, can't wait to see Luke get back on the saddle. Wish I could say the same. I recently saw a 2017 interview with Mark Hamill on Youtube, and holy crap is he fat. The last thing I want to see in Star Wars is an obese Luke Skywalker. It's especially sad for anyone who grew up with the Expanded Universe and games like Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, where post-trilogy Luke is depicted as very spry and androgenous just like he was in ROTJ. IMO it's totally unacceptable for him to be that out of shape. It's like William Shatner in the old Star Trek movies, getting progressively fatter with each film, except Shatner at least had the excuse of playing a character who didn't have to look fit, because his character (Kirk) is a mere pilot/captain and not some kind of warrior like Luke is. Talk about cringeworthy. |
