Atari Flashback Classics Volume 1 review (PS4)

Atari games are like the wheel, they get around (chuck chuck chuck).
Despite that, there are plenty of games that I haven't played from the Atari era due to never owning the console, thus, the compilation or the Flashback console was my best option.
I happen to really like this compilation as a multiplayer experience, especially as someone who is not very familiar with Atari games. Challenging friends to high scores in Centipede / Millipede even after the fact via online leaderboards is thrilling even to this day. Black Widow is delightful and that game with the Falcon in the desert is such a cool adventure.
With that being said, there is a lot of straight up crap on this collection. Why did they put so much crap on here? 50 games and I'd say probably 20 of them are "playable" or games that are "worth playing."
For the 20 bucks the game goes for at retail, that's not bad but it's not great either. It's a poor representation of the best of Atari and honestly sounds like a bad flashback.
I like the look back at Atari historically and the port quality is excellent especially for the arcade games but the wasted space drags the quality of the collection down overall.
