Just thought I may create a thread about all those small things that you don't create a whole new thread for. Like for instance; Why is SW Battlefront II so damn expensive on the Xbox and not on the PS2?

Because I can and the picture is already uploaded... the Xbox I got from my cousin, with a "Ghost Case" front panel. Swapped out the old Thomson drive with a slightly newer Thomson drive that at least works 80% of the time.

That looks freaking awesome! But doesn't it work all the time?

It works most of the time, but not all the time. The Thomsons are known for having issues like that. Thankfully, the original Xbox I bought has a Samsung drive and, last I remember, it never had an issue. Also, the "Ghost Case" I bought must have been a bad mold. The entire top piece was supposed to be translucent green as well, but the back left piece would not align. After 90 minutes of struggling to get the thing on, it cracked. I wanted to rewire one of the cables inside. I had read that the loading times could be improved 33% by doing so, and bought a new cable to do it with... but the way the cable was constructed, there wasn't enough room to fold it into the right position.

Those things aren't that expensive, so I think I would have just got a new console. Not worth all the stress and time.

Has anyone been enjoying their Xbox lately? My Xbox One has constantly been getting updates and it fucking sucks. It takes 15-20 minutes to update and I've got it 3 times this week.

Balder I haven't used either of my Xbox consoles recently, but I think about my beloved original Xbox nearly every second. I value it more than any other console I own, mostly due to the fact that it's a relatively difficult console to find, even in the US. I'm so glad mine still works.

They're relatively cheap. I wouldn't ever expect paying more than 50 bucks for one.

Considering all the amazing digital shoot 'em up games, we like to admit it or not, the 360 is one of the best consoles of all time for those alone. They also came up with achievements and solid online play, you can't refute that reality because it is true, we owe it to the 360 which was the very first 7th gen console after all and as a consequence the first one featuring HD gaming. Also a lot of third party Western IPs were born there as well. Despite the red ring of death, that console had a real impact on the industry overall.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 basically tied for the win in the 7th gen. Despite the Wii's sales in console, it was the dust collector of consoles. It sold overall most consoles, but least games.

I feel the Wii is responsible for making gaming culturally acceptable. Nowadays the social stigma of being a gamer is less radical as it used to be before the Wii. We owe to the Wii all the media freedom and vocal participation we are now unashamedly exploiting. They did deserve to win that generation and have many of the best selling games of all time as well, but it doesn't take away the fact the PS3 and the 360 had their own merits as well.

The Wii can't win if it's the console people played the least. Also, did you just use admin to edit my comment?

Didn't the PS3 come in third for units sold, though? You're right. For some reason I thought the PS3 took the lead, but the 360 outsold it with less than 200 000 units. They're basically tied anyways.
