After much complaining, someone has finally suggested their own film. Is his taste in movies better than ours? Let's find out! This week: The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (AKA why have one title when you can have two?) Chosen by: Balder (AKA Balder) Released: 2007 Starring: Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell Director: Seth Gordon Producer: Ed Cunningham Writer: You couldn't write this stuff. (It's a documentary)

It's the best damn documentary ever made. You couldn't find a better bad guy than Billy Mitchell. The guy amazes me every time. Steve Wiebe on the other hand, is the underdog and I find myself rooting for him the whole way. Never been so invested in a documentary before.

That's kind of standard fare for documentaries like this. Check out one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's first films, called Pumping Iron. Same basic set-up with Arnie as the cocky villain back in his bodybuilding days. This movie looks cool, though. It's now on my Watch List.

Dude, Mitchell is cocky and selfish in all documentaries he stars in. But this one takes the cake.

12 minutes into this. It's too over the top (and not in a good way) 30 minutes in. It's gotten a lot better with all the Keith Apacary types and people breaking into the guys garage to steal the Donkey Kong board.
1hr in. What the hell! What a bunch of hypocrites! Dicks, man. The fix is in. Damn you Billy and your cronies.
edit: damn that seemed like they filmed it and stitched it together to make Billy look bad from the outset. I mean it still seems like he's an arrogant hypocrite but they set Billy Mitchell up for sure as soon as they heard about this nice guy with a Donkey Kong high score, and they set THAT guy up too because they knew he'd be intimidated by those goofy butt kissers. At least Steve Weeb got the high score in the end, no thanks to anyone but himself.

The Mappy guy was hilarious. Needed more of him and Mark Bussler randomly walking through with a beer mug

Apparently since this documentary came out 10 people destroyed both Mitchell and Wiebe's records in the past decade and the high score is considered basically perfect.

I'm going to come to the defense of billspreston here. The movie is like 10 years old. Who gives a crap it gets spoiled at this point.
I'm giving the movie a Three. Its good. Its funny. But it lacks any Arnold, Stallone, Van Damme, Hogan, Norris, Bronson, or Seagal. Also does not have naked breasts.
