Sometimes, only long after a console/portable is discontinued some programmers can squeeze all the power needed to run some impressive looking games. A few examples that I find particularly impressive: SonicZippy the Porcupine (Atari 2600) Halo (Atari 2600) Mark has even reviewed a nice looking one: Gunlord (Neo Geo / Dreamcast) A very well known one: Pier Solar (Mega Drive) - this one created a cartridge with much more memory than the ones available at the time and can even use the Sega CD to play a cd-quality version of the soundtrack: I know there are a lot for the Dreamcast, and Mark has shown some impressive ones for the Vectrex.

Thanks for sharing. When you mentioned about this before it got me curious and made me want to look them up on my own. Now you saved me time. I really hope Mark gets to review these games at some point other than the NG Dev.Team ones, which are great by the way.

Dan E. Kool - I forgot Mark had reviewed it! Halo 2600 was also reviewed on Undertow, and I remember there was a Dreamcast shmup also reviewed by Mark (don't remember the name right now). Zippy the Porcupine is the most impressive thing ever. It not only looks miles above anything else on the 2600, it also looks quite fun - and it even runs fast! The same guy also made a Super Mario port:

Medieval Mayhem and Juno First are a couple of 2600 homebrews that I own that looks fantastic. Also, Medieval Mayhem has some very impressive music.

Really? That's awesome. I now want to see those ClassicGameRoom reviews too.
