That's a great list for sure, but it would had been nice if all 3 Mega Man X were there.
I also dislike the lack of shoot 'em ups such as Aero Fighters, Axelay, Gradius III, Imperium, Raiden Trad, or Space Megaforce. They were all amazing.
I imagine the lack of Chrono Trigger is huge for those that like RPGs as well. I would had put Chrono Trigger for sure, and ActRaiser instead of Dream Course. Dream Course is fine, but it is a golf game after all.
Of course we can't expect Licensed games, otherwise Batman Returns, The Adventures Of Batman & Robin, and TMNT Turtles In Time would deserve to be there.
Games like the Final Fight trilogy, the Mortal Kombat trilogy; or Killer Instinct were far better in the arcades anyway.
Other than that this list is almost perfection, and definitely super solid.

The list is solid; I do agree that all Mega Man X games and Chrono would make it even better, but it's pretty good anyway. It's also surprising that they are including Star Fox 2, I don't think anyone expected Nintendo to even remember that game.

I'm actually surprised they got the licensing agreement Final Fantasy III (VI) from Square. Perhaps that was a part of the deal for Super Mario RPG? I was looking into my notes, sometimes I like to make random lists, and I found my SNES Classic prediction. To my surprise I was very close actually. The main issue was that I wrote down too many games.
I figured that they were likely going to have the Donkey Kong Country games, but I thought that if they had those, they were going to be able to get Killer Instinct as well and have that as a nice surprise. I was really hoping for that one because I knew it was a SNES exclusive game.
I knew the Mortal Kombat games were too much to ask and any licensed game as well. I also thought they were going to add Super Puyo Puyo and Super Bomberman simply because of the recent sequels Switch releases.

I saw EarthBound happening because its recent popularity, but I never saw Star Fox 2 coming, that is a surprise.
Obviously I was giving Nintendo too much credit expecting a bigger roster of games than the NES Classic with 40 titles this time just to impress. I wish I was completely right though. I was close, but 19 games over.

Hahahahaha Dan E. Kool what are we going to do without you, at this point we can't live without your jokes. Don't you ever dare going bankrupt. By the way, back to topic, I wish they had added Super Street Fighter II instead of Turbo Hyper Fighting. Hyper Fighting doesn't have Cammy, Dee Jay, T. Hawk, or Fei Long. They have Super Street Fighter II on the Wii U, so they definitely were able to put it there. Better yet, it would had been more great if they added Super Street Fighter II Turbo which was never released on the SNES, but so it wasn't Star Fox 2, so they could had done that too, I'm sure Capcom wouldn't mind, that way we could also get Akuma there. Street Fighter II Turbo Hyper Fighting is fine though, it is the better one of the three games with the original roster, but it is missing 4 or 5 characters depending on which Street Fighter II game you are comparing it with. |
