Finally after several months of waiting, I got my Neo-Geo games. It took 5 weeks or so to get them here, but by the time they arrived I moved back home for the summer. My roommate was supposed to bring them to me when he got his summer vacation, but he extended his stay at the apartment for an extra month.
Anyways I hooked everything up and played Metal Slug first. Words of video cannot describe how it is to play Metal Slug on the Neo-Geo. The videos on YouTube don't do it justice. It plays so smooth and the sprites look so fantastic. I have never played anything that felt this way before. It's a tragedy that I never experienced the arcades before sort of experiencing them now. Also, a damn good game, damn good. I need to play it a little more, but it could very likely be my favorite game of the year.
I also played The Last Blade and Samurai Shodown, with The Last Blade being.the better in my opinion. I need to get to know these game more well as fighters aren't very easy to get good at the beginning.
Did not get to play The King of Monsters yet due to the lack of free time. But I'll get back to it next week when I've got a whole week off from work. I can now see why the Neo-Geo is something truly remarkable.

I'm so jealous you have no idea, in the good way of course. Having a Neo-Geo MVS inside your home is in my opinion the definition of living the dream, and you are definitely right, the console ports simply don't do those games any justice. You see slow downs even on systems as powerful as the PS4. Congratulations man.

Thanks guys. Also I forgot to mention the awesome arcade stick control. It feels pretty good. I was actually in talks with a guy about making a real arcade stick with actual arcade components. He hasn't responded in a while though.

I've gotten some more time on it now and played it different groups if people. I've had some friends over where all of them were non-gamers. They've been over before and played some Atari 2600 before and they have enjoyed it quite a lot. But one of them was crazy about the Neo-Geo. He almost wouldn't let anyone else play when he tried Metal Slug (and I can't blame him). Another group had some friends that were very much into modern gaming and hates retro gaming. Fortunately I convinced them to try out Samurai Shodown, and we had a great time. This system is rocking!
