Considering how big this notion was back in the classic game era to the point that inspired best selling books and one of the most aggressive advertisement campaigns in gaming history, we want to honor it by having a weekly poll between game design rivalries and responses we have seen through out the years. Let´s make our Classic Game Room community decide once and for all who are the real winners. The polls will remain open so future members can also participate and you will only be able to see the results after you vote. There won´t be an index for these threads as we already have too many of those. If you want to look for them after just type Console Wars on the search bar and you may be able to find them. Good luck to those consoles and development teams participating. This week we'll have Donkey Kong Country Vs. Sonic The Hedgehog. Donkey Kong Country is the immediate Rare response to the all time classic best selling hit Sonic The Hedgehog that made move more Sega Genesis console units than any other game in their library. Donkey Kong Country became one of the top 3 best selling games for the Super Nintendo making it also an iconic hit for the industry overall, while Sonic was the best selling game for the Genesis, and one of the all time best selling games as well though multiple re-releases on various platforms.

Sonic wins because after the move to 3d, they all suck.

Is Colonial Marines still the only Sega Published game that you owned? How do you know I own Colonial Marines? And where did you draw the conclusion that I don't own any other Sega games? I have Sonic 1 and 2 for the Genesis (plus Spinball if you count that). I own every Sega console Master System, Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast (the 2 DCs I own though don't work and they are surprisingly rare to come by for me). Edit: Colonial Marines is balls btw. Only good thing about it is the splitscreen co-op and 4 player campaign.

He might have access to some kind of intelligence agency of some sort. Or maybe it was something else, like a Sega survey. So basically you only have 4 Sega Published games? Of course Spinball counts, I'm surprised you haven't get Sonic The Hedgehog 3, just like Donkey Kong Country, the whole trilogy is very good, people have preferences between which ones they like more, but they are all some of the all time best games. About the thread. This one is a very close call. Donkey Kong Country was developed in the West but it is an awesome game with an amazing ambient soundtrack and a very impressive artstyle, while Sonic The Hedgehog is a clever original masterpiece of game design that made a very real impact in the overall industry.

Sonic punishes you for going too fast. Therefore, Klonoa wins.

I have about 15 Genesis games, 15 Saturn games and 5 Dreamcast games, where several of them are Sega. But I don't know specifically what is what.
