I know a lot of people see this as a bad movie, but as 9-10 year-old me loved this one, I'll go with a solid 5 - even if it's inferior to the first. I haven't seen it since the... 90s, I guess? Man, I have to watch/rewatch a lot of cobretti's suggestions. We should at least give some credit to the villain, as it's not stopped by stairs (as far as I remember). I also remember I loved the "reveal" scene, when he starts shooting at everyone.

Balder - I think it's because (I bet) we all love the first one, while the second is more controversial. Was that the reason, cobretti?

The person who directed Empire Strikes Back directed this. Wow. The same man also directed Never Say Never Again, which is by far one of the most disliked Bond films by fans of the series, or so that seems to be the case (just look at the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes).

The reason I chose Robocop 2, starring Robocop, is that it somehow out sleazed the original. That's why I have a preference to the second one. A hard thing to pull off since the first one was directed by Paul Verhoeven, the sleaziest mainstream director of all time. We all know the first is a great movie, but the second I find to be grossly underrated and underappreciated. Also there was a small chance Balder would have heard of it.

Verhoeven is definitely over-rated. He ruined the original vision of Starship Troopers, while making a quite entertaining movie (which wasn't his point). The second one is good, at least they didn't make it PG13 like the 3rd one. But does anyone remember the TV series? That was actually good, and it had a good amount of promise. Why not make Robocop a cop drama/action show?

I remember it being somewhat goofy with goofy villains, which I must admit has a certain appeal to me. One day I'll have to track it down.

This movie had everything a film could ever need to be a killer sequel: Kershner, Frank Miller, Robocop... It just doesn't manage to match the original, for some reason. But it does get points for predicting the Detroit bankruptcy. So that's something.

Shirtless dudes was definitely a thing back then. About the movies, I enjoy all 3 movies, even the third one where Robocop can fly. But in all honesty nothing beats the original. That movie is on a league of its own as one the best movies ever made. It was frightening for me as a kid, and I didn't even see it when it came out on theaters, but later on when they would show it on TV. So I can't even imagine how much more shocking it must had been on the big screen.

It tends to happen when you let democrats run things for decades. Which reminds me of another thing that puts the Robocop 2 over the first one for me, the telethon fiddle player. He ruled.
