spidershinobi - I agree, just showing the environments would be a better choice. What I think is: on their Kickstarter page, they posted the video as a "Progress Update", so I'm guessing it was supposed to be shown mostly for backers and just as a proof of concept - how some scenes will play out, what kind of characters you'll find in the game etc. Then the entire thing backfired when Sony posted it on their official channel as a teaser trailer. So I suppose that the entire situation is the result of a lack of communication between developers and marketing department - and let's be honest, the marketing team for Shenmue 3 is pretty shitty, just look at their entire Kickstarter campaign filled with strange decisions.

Oh wow! That's messed up.
But I guess it makes more sense now that you mention people from Sony did it. They thought Life of Black Tiger was ok to compete against the Switch reveal.

As long as when it's all said and done they under-promise and over-deliver for the longtime fans instead of vice versa.
Now I'm reminded of when people wouldn't stop talking about the Shadowrun kickstarter. Looked fantastic at first glance, then when I saw some of the portraits I thought to meself, what a waste. They cheaped out on getting a great artist to design the characters and they just looked generic. I mean look at Dragon Quest still looking iconic with Toriyama characters. Or when they rebooted Langrisser a few times without Satoshi Urushihara doing the character designs. why

It's weird because it gives me 3D Zelda vibes, but translated to modern times, which odly enough gives you a sense of nostalgia, and that comes from someone that didn't play the first two Shenmue games. Something tells me this one will surpass them.
You have to respect Shenmue, that along with Crazy Taxi, single-handedly gave life to open world games like Gran Theft Auto III. It is great that this influential series is finally getting the sequel it deserved.
Yu Suzuki has nothing to envy to Yoshiaki Koizumi, or to Eiji Aonuma, he has demonstrated it time and time again. That fundraiser on E3 a few years ago was very emotional, and it is nice that it is now turning into a reality.

The legacy alone of the first one almost wants me to try this one. Then they go about and bugger up by having an exclusive deal with Epic...

I initially wasn't that hyped for the game because there just seemed to be something off about Yo Sazuki's sudden change of heart and explanation on why he decided to jump back on to Shenmue. And I wasn't and still not impressed with the Graphics because it just looks to Graphics student project like.
But after seeing more gameplay of the actual story and locations, I'm definitely interested now that the game is done with showing off the visuals and presenting more story connecting it to the previous games.
Now this and the yakuza collection have finally given me a reason to buy a ps4.

Now this and the yakuza collection have finally given me a reason to buy a ps4. They also have the first two Shenmue games remastered for PS4. You can play the whole saga on PS4: - Shenmue - Shenmue 2 - Shenmue 3 - Yakuza 0 - Yakuza Kiwami - Yakuza Kiwami 2 - Yakuza 3 - Yakuza 4 - Yakuza 5 - Yakuza 6 - Judgement - Yakuza Like A Dragon Just like you can play all the Metal Gear Solid games on PS3: - Metal Gear - Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake - Metal Gear Solid - Metal Gear Solid VR Missions - Metal Gear Solid 2 VR Missions - Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater - Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns Of The Patriots - Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker - Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes - Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain Talking about that, now that I think about it, on PS4 you will also be able to play all the Metal Slug games, all the Mega Man games, all the Mega Man X games, all the Mega Man Zero/Zx games, all the main Street Fighter games, and most of the main King Of Fighters games, also most of the main Samurai Shodown games.

But the collection of all the Yakuza games on one CD sure does sound good. Might even grab some of those Metal Slug and some Samurai Shodown if I find my self a good fight stick under 100 bucks if I deseide to finally get a Ps4. This has been my least favourite console generation by far and not that it has bad games but just not my kind of games with the exception of a few. But I guess Shenmue and Yakuza are enough to buy a Ps4 at a reasonable price.

This has been my least favourite console generation by far and not that it has bad games but just not my kind of games with the exception of a few. But I guess Shenmue and Yakuza are enough to buy a Ps4 at a reasonable price. There are many other excellent Neo Geo games with trophies on PS4 including Magician Lord, Shock Troopers, Super Sidekicks, Fatal Fury, World Heroes, Garou Mark Of The Wolves, Real Bout Fatal Fury, Prehistoric Island 2, Last Resort, Pulstar, Blazing Star, Twinkle Star Sprites, and many others. There is also the SNK 40th Birthday Collection, the Konami Arcade Collection, the Contra Collection, the Castlevania Collection, the Disney Afternoon Collection, the Capcom Beat 'em Up Collection, and the Sega Genesis Classics, also many other arcade games also with trophies, like Galaga, Dig Dug, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man, and Scramble. I also recommend many other cool games like: - Alienation - Assault Suit Leynos - Bloodstained Curse Of The Moon - Bloodstained Ritual Of The Night - Caladrius Blaze - Dangun Feveron - Darius Burst Chronicle Saviours - Dead Nation Apocalypse - Lumines - Ikaruga - MatterFall - Mega Man 11 - Nano Assault Neo-X - Nex Machina - Pinball FX3 - Polybius - R-Type Dimensions EX - Raiden V Director's Cut - Resogun - Sine Mora EX - Sonic Mania - Sonic Team Racing - Super Stardust Ultra - Tetris Effect - Thumper - Touhou Genso Rondo Bullet Ballet - Wild Guns Reloaded I'm sure I'm missing many, but the system has a lot to offer. I heard the PS4 Slim will be $150 on Black Friday which is a killer deal. In terms of big games, there are many excellent ones too: - Ace Combat 7 - Bloodborne - Catherine Full Body - Code Vein - Dark Souls III - Dead Or Alive 6 - Devil May Cry 5 - Dragon Ball FighterZ - Kingdom Hearts III - Last Guardian - Final Fantasy VII Remake - Final Fantasy XV - Gravity Rush 2 - NieR Automata - Ni No Kuni II - Nioh - Persona 5 - Resident Evil 2 Remake - Resident Evil VII - Sekiro Shadows Die Twice - Shadow Of The Colossus Remake - SoulCalibur VI - Tales Of Berseria - Tekken 7 And many others I'm not even listing like the Senran Kagura games, the Gal*Gun games, Onechanbara, Zombie Hunter, Fate/Extella, Hatsune Miku, E.D.F. 4.1, E.D.F. 5, etc.... You really can't go wrong with a system with over 100 million users because that means there is always something for many different kinds of players.

Besides the first list which is mostly indy games, i'm not a fan of most of the games on the second list that consist of main titles for the console besides maybe Ace Combat 7, Dragon Ball Fighter Z and maybe the FF7 remake. This Gen just didn't catch my interest like the previous with most games that seem to be style over substance. And don't think the Generation after this one is going to be any better, Which to me is not a problem because nothing ever came close to the Neo Geo and Dreamcast era for me anyway. So I will always have those generations to fall back on.

They come from established publishers, if you want to add proper indie titles in the system, those lists become a lot bigger.

I meant they're indie in style such as 2d side strollers or shmups that don't represent the console as such games as say Bloodborne or Sekiro.
