Hey guys. So my Gamebar app that shipped with my version of Windows recently stopped working, which sucks. I have no idea how to get it working again, and since no one else on this forum seems to have experience using it or knowledge on it, I've decided that I'm going to just look for an alternative software.
I've tried using Fraps in the past (distant past, like 2009ish), but had some problems with it. For example, I couldn't figure out how to record more than 30 seconds of footage at a time. I know Fraps was a very popular program in the past but is it still a viable option nowadays? And is it still free?
Besides Fraps, are there any other good video capturing programs that you guys know about & would recommend to me? I could really use some suggestions.
NOTE: I use Windows 10, so anything not compatible with Windows 10 won't do it for me.

I just checked the official Fraps website and it's apparently not compatible with Windows 10 (which is the version of Windows I use). Bummer. I guess I'll have to find another option.

Shareware. The free version has the usual limitations (watermark, videos limited to 10 minutes). There are probably better free options out there, but, as with anything related to capturing/editing videos, I'm not the better person to ask.  EDIT: Spirit Bomb, I just remembered: if you have a nVidia GPU, their free GeForce Experience program has an overlay with an option to capture video. That might be a good option. |

Because I do have an Nvidia card.EDIT: Just checked my Geforce Experience program and you're right, they do allow video recording, but only if your specs meet their requirements, which mine don't; apparently my graphics card isn't sufficient enough/compatible. I do appreciate the info though. |
