Commando's body count is also much higher than T2. Arnold kills a lot of people in Commando and that's a thing I value in an Arnold movie. Arnold kills 81 people in Commando. In T2 lays a goose egg and kills zero people. Again, T2 is an excellent movie, but I got to go with the movie where Arnold kills more people. This is also why Terminator is better than T2. I'm actually torn on that. T2 had better special effects and more spectacular set pieces, but the original is a more intense movie. Once the action really starts, the movie feels almost relentless. |

You guys read my mind again. I just tried to watch this movie again with the old dvd I've had for over a decade, and it started skipping really bad around the point when Arnie/John starts chasing after Sully when they're at that mall area. I've already committed the movie to memory at this point so I guess it isn't a huge loss.
Anyway, I love how the main character in Commando is such a no-nonsense kind of guy. I guess you can say that about alot of action movie MCs, but this one in particular seems like a real go-getter that gets shit done. The 1st action scene encapsulates him perfectly. Where one of the bad guys tries some smart act on him, trying to get Arnie to surrender and negotiate because they have his daughter hostage. Most other characters would've fell for it, but Arnie just dropped him on the spot and proceeded to get into a car chase with the engine and brakes cut in his truck. What a gangster.

I've always been impressed with this retelling of Commando, but I've always been bothered with how the Arnold impersonator pronounces 'Jenny'. To be accurate, it should be pronounced 'CHENNY'. |
