This trailer has been out for months, but I only just saw it: A new Sega Genesis game by the team that made Pier Solar. I was super impressed by what Watermelon Games was able to do with PS, but a side-scrolling beat-em-up is more my speed. I'm stoked! (Dumb name, tho) Here's the link to the official site: Paprium.com

Did you play through Pier Solar, Dan E. Kool ? The game really interested me, but I never had time to play through it. I read that it was great, but it was full of grinding. I haven't played through a grinder game in years.

Sadly, the developers had very recently some problems with Paypal and had to delay the release date. But the game looks really nice. dschult3 - From what I've read about Pier Solar, it's very technically impressive, but the gameplay and the script themselves are apparently not too great - just good enough. I would still love to play it, though.

I haven't played through a grinder game in years. I haven't played through it, but I got a chance to see it and it's amazing what the Genesis is capable of in the right hands. Like Cervantes said, the dialogue is kinda... Well, let me put it this way, it wasn't written by native English speakers. Maybe you could say that gives it a bit of charm? I dunno. The gameplay is very old-school, literally to a fault. I don't think anyone would have complained if they'd updated the gameplay a little, for less grinding, etc., but that's not the experience they were going for. In any case, I don't think it's bothersome when you know what you're getting into - a real 16-bit RPG. I tried to buy the game a couple years ago, but it was sold out at the time and I wasn't interested in a used copy. The novelty is in buying a BRAND NEW Genesis game, not a used one. There was a pre-order option, but I passed and spent the money on something else (probably groceries). Just checked the website again, and it's still Preorder. Don't know what to make of that.

For those that have full Genesis collection, new releases definitely count, everyone should jump on tose as well.
