But here goes nothing. Again.
I've been making another sequel for the original Phantasy Star series (the one set in Algol) and I'm looking for someone who can contribute some sprites. I've made a few enemy sprites myself and have been building the various overworlds. But I can't do all this by myself.

I wish I knew game design, it would be so much fun to be able to make your own story, but knowing me it would probably end up in a very dark and dirty plot.
I would say gameplay looks to be the hardest element in game design because not many give it the importance it deserves, considering that's where most games end up failing.
Some games come with amazing art style and outstanding storytelling, but the gameplay, the most important thing of a game, it is usually where they fall short of greatness.

As far as overall quality goes, I just want the game to be at least comparable with Phantasy Star 4. I've been using RPG Maker VX Ace and I've already added elements not found in Phantasy Star Classic, like rare drops from enemies, being able to choose how the story goes and needing technics or guns to hit flying enemies.

Sounds like a lot of work, if you are losing sleep over this, that means this is something you are meant to do, anything that excites you is always good because you don't want to regret later not enjoying something you wanted to do.

I know how you feel. I've had a crack at making games a few times and the bottleneck is always sprites.

Hey, could I ask you fellas a favour? Do you have any high-shot angle pictures, taken looking down on buildings? I'm looking for buildings I can crop out of pictures, but don't want to get it from copyrighted sources.

I suppose that won't help, though.
