I am surprised no one posted it yet. We were waiting for you to do it. I can't say that the trailer got me excited. But I'm going to go see this no matter how bad it looks so... It doesn't look like they've improved from last time, though. Oh, the sequel has AT-ATs? Shocking. Also, Kylo Ren is such a brat. Lame. I guess now I understand why the Trekkies weren't happy with JarJar Abrams' reboot of their series. These are decent movies, but the soul of the franchise just isn't there. Even with the original cast, it feels like it's trying to be Star Wars rather than an actual continuation of the story. It's a tough task, to be sure, and Disney is trying its best, but I'm underwhelmed. Too bad. I'm sure it'll make bank. |

C'mon guys, this is going to be great. Luke Skywalker coming back, that's going to be fantastic! But one thing I've got to say, I didn't care for this trailer. Nothing special, and having so many misdirections are just stupid.

I'm sure there have been some good films in the past several years, but I can't be bothered to go out of my way to find a newer movie that I might like. Every trailer I see it's the same trite cliched garbage trying to pass itself off as the bast movie of all time. |

Remember Ewoks, those little fucks that are the worst part of OT. Hence the Space Balls reference. This thing is more Jar Jar or Baby Groot than Ewoks. The people behind this one seem heavily inspired by anime to boot.  |

I think that's why I liked Rogue One so much: even if it still relies on the original movies by being a prequel, it at least tried to do it in a different style and tone. So, as I see it, it was not trying to be a "new Star Wars movie": it was ostensibly a side story so they cold try new things, more obviously by not having the jedi and lightsaber battles, but also by not being a "space adventure" movie (it was more a mix between espionage and war movies). I really like it. Hell, they even nailed Darth Vader's villainy and deadliness. As for the trailer: it seems we'll be getting something very similar to the previous one, so I'm expecting a "perfectly adequate" movie - not bad, but not very surprising either, and with a few fanfic undertones. I'm ok with that, but I'm not crazy about it. |

Nice to see others don't like the new stuff either. Now if I could just keep those damned kids off my lawn!! Watching the trailer again, I have to say I'm even less optimistic. I'll bet money this will be as much a remake of Empire as Awakens was of ANH. We got: AT-AT assault on the Rebel (sorry, Resistance) base ✔ Young Jedi finds old Master on distant planet to begin training ✔ Jedi goes to battle, loses, is offered chance to join bad guy ✔ Rebel (sorry, Resistance) forces attacked in space while trying to evacuate base ✔ Did I miss anything? Will someone be frozen in carbonite? I wouldn't bet against it! |
