With annualized franchises like Call of Duty, Assasians Creed, and even mario and Uncharted, I thought that it'd be nice to look at the series that are unappreciated. Punch Out. Yes, I know about the remake, but that was 7 years ago. To me, the 3ds is the perfect place for this. Look at the original arcade game with it's two monitor display. Just imagine the possibilities. ![](http://stupidgamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/punch_out.jpg)

I would probably die before I finished a list of dormant Sega franchises that deserve a little love. Sega has so many great series they forgot about. Its insane.

Sonic the Hedgehog. What Sega has been doing to him isn't love. It's flogging a dead hedgehog.

I agree, Sonic Boom sucks because it was made by Westerners, what the hell was Sega thinking? That's like giving Zelda to an internal Bethesda studio, it's so stupid. They deserve that failure for making such a dumb decision.

Battle Arena Toshinden, it was the first 3D fighting game with a kickass soundtrack and memorable characters. Still everyone gives it shit. It's awesome.

I'm screaming PANZER DRAGOON from the top of my lungs right now. That series is so fantastic, it didn't deserve to be forgotten as it is right now.
I also think the Wonder boy / Monster world series lacks some love - most people never remember it when discussing the best 8/16-bit platformers. The same goes for its spiritual successor, Shantae, which also has great games but isn't all that famous.

It was the fist PlayStation game I ever played. I know it's not technically good, but I love that game to death.

No hickups at all. It plays better than most fighters.

In these kinds of topic we often just accept what everyone says, but I think it actually started in contradiction with the very topic title, specially because Little Mac is in the latest Smash Bros., and as scipioafricanus said Valkyria Chronicles is getting ported, again.

F-Zero.
It's been 12 years since the last game and I really doubt we're getting a sequel now.

Depends on what "deserve more love" means in this case. I thought it was more in the sense of "hey, only a few people have played the games in this series and/or talks about them". While I'm also not sure on Punch-Out's case (people talk about it, but usually just about the NES one), I agree on Valkyria Chronicles: even the first game, ported to multiple platforms, is only "mildly" famous at best, while the sequels are completely obscure thanks to Sega's asinine decisions (I never played them). Considering the high quality of the first game, this seems to be a series that should be much more known.

Armored Core. Why it never caught on is sort of understandable. Making a mech is no easy task for some people, it requires lots of tweaking and testing to perfect it. Thats not what some people are looking for when they just want to blow up other NEXTs ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Viewtiful Joe was a great throwback to the 16-bit era's beat-em-up days. One of the most highly-recognized Gamecube exclusives upon release, and later ported to the PS2. Sadly, it has been over a decade since the last games in the series came out and Capcom couldn't care less about it. Too bad Platinum Games couldn't get the rights or, at least, release a clone-styled game.
