stratogustav I kinda agree, kinda disagree. Story isn't the problem, it's the way it's presented. I like story that's presented through gameplay, not cut scenes (even though I like Metal Gear).

I hated QTE games, and that's why I didn't like the Sega CD. (Sorry scipioafricanus ) I know a lot of people who liked the original Last of Us, but I want more game play. Like Dan E. Kool , I have mixed feelings on this one.

It does have gameplay, and a lot of it. It is really well done. The cinematics are never too long or out of place. They provide the perfect amount of exposition. Not quite on the "movie scale" of Metal Gear Solid 4, but I loved the crap out of that game too. But I would watch that as a movie as well.

dschult3The way I enjoy those games is when you play them with other people. I had a lot of fun playing Until Dawn because there were many of us, but if I was doing it on my own I probably would not had enjoy it as much as I did. There are some very entertaining QTE games like rhythm games for example that you can play on your own, but for story heavy games it helps to have someone else next to you the whole time to comment about it. Or maybe it is just me.

There aren't quick time events. A few button mashing sessions when someone/something grabs you, though.

Yeah, I finished The Last Of Us and it didn't have too much QTEs. My issue with it is that it is the kind of game that you want to play to know what happens next in the story.
Unlike something like Gran Turismo where you want to drive, Street Fighter where you want to kick and punch, Time Crisis where you want to shoot, Dynasty Warriors where you want to slash, or Mario where you want to jump. Games where you play for the gameplay. I think that's what many of these games are missing.

Jesus Christ is that supposed to be Ellie? She looks like an NFL linebacker, how does she feed those muscles in a post-apocalyptic wasteland?

It might be that I'd like LoU, I just don't know.

God I loved the last of us. Played it for 3 days in a row till I beat it. Wish it would come to PC though. It would be much easier to play if it was played with a mouse and keyboard. I just cant hit shit with a controller anymore however with mouse and keyboard my aim is a lot better now that I have adapted to it.

I heard people hating on the trailer. So that is good news. Maybe this game will turn out better than the last one. The last one felt like your average HBO show, but nothing special.

Although I'm admittedly not really a fan of the franchise, having played through the first title once I cannot deny that it was an extremely well made game - albeit one that I have no compulsion to revisit. Something like Shadow of Mordor completely blows it out of the water in terms of gameplay though...
The trailer hasn't really gotten me intrigued either, but I will still get the game eventually... if only to witness the story's progression.
That woman in the trailer is not Ellie btw, as it's played by a different voice actress to the one playing her. The predominant theory out there is that it's her mother.
If that's true, the setting of the trailer could actually be a flashback of events before the first game, which could be a significant part of the sequel's storytelling.
