I chose this series primarily because of the recent news that Visceral Games was shut down by EA. Sad. I've never played any of these games but I've heard good things about them.

I have only tried the first one. The mechanics were great, but I thought there was way too much scare jumps. I guess I just don't like those types of games in particular, but Dead Space is one of the better games in that category. Never finished it, but I want to get back. 3-3.5/5 for me as of now.

1 and 2 are regarded as some of the best games of the 7th gen. It sucks they got closed, but I heard the studio was just the left overs they once were because many of the team members went to Sledgehammer to work on Call Of Duty.
EA decision sucks though, I mean this people made Agent Under Fire, Everything Or Nothing, and From Russia With Love, games that along Tomb Raider inspired the Uncharted series.

I hate that the trend is going towards multiplayer only games. What singleplayer-centric games does EA make these days?

Not a fan of the main games but I enjoyed the on-rail shooter on Wii back in the day, haven't played it in several years now though.

"The numbers, Mason! What do they mean?" Well, it's a little complicated. It's "II" because it's the sequel. That is, the sequel to the one that came before it. But the game that came before it was, itself, a sequel of sorts. Or maybe a reboot. In any case, it's the sixth game to be made. So it's really number "VI" but they call it "II" to avoid confusion. |

Red Dead 2 is the prequel to Red Dead Redemption, but it is titled as a sequel because the release is after, all while it happen to be the third game in the series. They do this so no one gets confused.
