The Star Wars Battlefront 2 debacle

Remember when I said that loot boxes could be our bane for the next few years? Yep.

The general public that doesn't follow the news will still buy the game.

It is not a good idea to get a bad rep with the hardcore gamers though. They are the ones that ultimately are loyal to buying games.

Well at least it got all over the news and their response got 600K downvotes, knocking out the prvioua record of 24K downvotes.

I don't know what's more disgusting, companies competing with eachother to see which one can nickel and dime the consumer the most, or Reddit being the anti-discourse circlejerk it usually is.

Yep. Most of the people bellyaching about these practices are still going to buy the game, just like every other "controversy". Nothing to see here folks.

The people from Factor 5 say they still have copies from Rogue Squadron Wii, that was cancelled. They say it has the best Battle Of Hoth ever made, but they cannot rescue the project unless they get approval from Disney, LucasArts, Nintendo, and probably EA since they are now in bed with the brand. They say the only modern system capable of supporting the game is the Switch because there are lightsaber parts that use motion. So at least we still have a system that can play it. I can only hope, but I doubt EA will let that happen.

Now, now. Let's be fair. EA is venturing into uncharted territory here. This is a massive Star Wars battle simulator, with different soldier classes, epic heroes-vs-villains battles, space combat, and more. It's not like they have a successful, previous game to base their work off of or something.

Dude don't be fooled. They lowered the cost of characters by 75 % yes. But they also lowered how much credits you earn accordingly, so getting stuff now is even harder than before. The microtransactions are only temporarily gone. They have said they're coming back.
