Remember trading my Return of the Jedi vhs with a friend for it... Oh how I regretted that later...  (RotJ has nigh infinite rewatch value, AN.... not so much...  ) |

Sounds like you’re the winner or that trade. Jedi had Ewoks while American Ninja had ninjas. And American Ninja is infinitely rewatchable. American Ninja is about as quintessential of a Cannon movie you could get if it didn’t have Chuck Norris or Charles Bronson. Gonzo action. Ninjas. A healthy body count. It had it all. Great, great movie. A solid 5. |

Then again there were countless re-releases of RotJ over the years... But that was my one and only copy ever of American Ninja... Wonder what happened to it... |

Michael Dudikoff is the original Ryan Gosling. Watch Drive. Compare Gosling's mannerisms, his stoic acting to Dudikoff's. Now ask yourself why Gosling is an outstanding actor while Dudikoff is remembered as a bad one. Now, who really shines in this movie is Steve James. James can fight. It's even more clear in the sequel, when he got more screen time (the sequel is sadly not as good, but the fight scenes near the end are fun). leaon79s - No need to keep the mask when you'll kill everyone who sees your face anyway!  |
