$200 isn't bad at all, especially if the controller is still in good shape.

Scramble is my favorite. I was lucky enough to have a Vectrex as a kid. (my dad bought it for himself on clearance, still have the box with a $38 price sticker on it.) Get Vector Pilot. A little expensive but totally worth it. www.kristofsnewvectrexgames.comli.com

I've never played one, but I did see one at an exhibition. It wasn't animated like other consoles: the motion on the screen was so real because it used actual moving beams of light. It was beautiful. Unfortunately, I will never own one. I can imagine the Vectrex 2 being even better, mixing green, red and blue beams together to make different colours.

The Vectrex 2 must happen, or shall we call it the Vectrex 2084?

Man I want one so bad... I think Mark is entirely the reason prices on that thing have jumped, which is both awesome and frustrating at the same time. In Australia the price has doubled from $200 to $400. And I think one man is to blame. He posted a picture of his collection and he owns 17 Vectrex's. That had to have been like half of all Australian vectrex's.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BH4dtpKgJCR Tonight, I actually got close to one of these legendary machines, and even played Mine Storm for a bit. It didn't last long though, because the controller was faulty (it wouldn't fire) and it was at a social event. But still, how rare was this?!

Awesome centipede unfortunately a new controller to this system is almost as expensive as getting another Vectrex. I saw a one for sale on AtariAge for 400 bucks the other day.

Balder Ironically, I found this where things get tinkered with and repaired. They had a huge lab and even a 3Dprinter! Maybe the Vectrex's owner hadn't got around to fixing it.

Well he would save a lot of money by repairing it. Also it's a very unusual and fun controller. Some people mod their Genesis controllers to work with the Vectrex, but the original controller is always most fun to play with IMO.

Never owned a Vectrex but boy does that joystick look like it would be torture to use. It looks far more painful than even the N64 joystick.

The Vectrex joystick is actually one of the smoothest joysticks I've ever used. It feels like it's spring loaded. The N64 controller however... In a addition to being one of the dumbest designs ever, the thumbstick is just hard plastic. It sucks and it's a piece of shit. Trying to play Rainbow Six on the N64 is less enjoyable than actually participating in a real life R6 operation.
