My passion in life is crushing my enemies, seeing them driven before me and hearing the lamentations of their women. "Conan, what is best in life?"

Although I love video gaming as a hobby and sharing those experiences, I really love filmmaking and conceptualizing as well as playing a part in my videos (in fact, I'm typically the only one that does!). This is something Mark and Derek have brought out in me and there is nothing more gratifying than still getting a kick out of my own video after watching it two dozen times and then once again months later. Here's an example: I did a "25 beers of Christmas" series just this winter where I drank a different beer every night (or tried to) mostly throwing cheesy jokes about the first one throughout and in the last video, I took an entirely different approach. Watch the last entry or all of them if you so desire, just know the last one will make more sense if you've seen at least one of the preceding ones. Christmas Beer!

My passion is to dig up old threads. When I saw the name of the thread I thought we've had this thread before. Then I saw my 1.5 year old comment.

I would say in order for that theory for ever check, there has to be some kind of level of faith in the spiritual realm, otherwise the laws of cause and effect debunks any kind of answer existentialism can offer.

You can't believe in existentialism. You question it out of curiosity.

You can't believe in existentialism. You question it out of curiosity. Oh, isn't that just so typical! Why don't you try showing a little respect, Balder? Just because you don't believe in it, doesn't mean existentialism isn't real. I mean, can you prove that it isn't real? No. Just like I can't prove that your religion isn't real. But I still recognize that others feel differently and so I temper my tone out of common decency. I happen to be a member of the Church of Latter Day Existentialists. It's offhand remarks like yours that are putting our Faith into crisis, Balder. THINK next time, before you write. Ask yourself, Why am I here? What is the purpose of my writing this? before you hit that 'Create Post' button. We don't all have to believe the same things, but let's at least respect our differences.

You can't believe in existentialism. You question it out of curiosity. OK, so I guess that means you don't believe in existentialism anymore. 1.5 years change a person, so what do you believe now or question out of curiosity?

I still like discussing existentialism, but I don't have a specific view on it as the thing with existentialism is that it's impossible to answer clearly. It has been a while though since I've read philosophy as my courses in American and British literature has taken up all my reading time the last 2 semesters, but in 2018 I will begin reading what I want again. Then I will delve into Zhuangzi and perhaps Dune.

I mean with the literature and all.

I mean with the literature and all. Funny you should mention Moby Dick as I actually bought after I read Bartleby by Melville. I'm probably going to read it also at some point. As for my inclination: I don't strongly side with any side. I find it very interesting to get to know more about others' opinions, but I haven't determined myself. What I do believe is that it's not much you can actually know for sure, hence my interest in existentialism. Why are we here? Does anything matter? It's easy to get depressed when thinking about this stuff, but I'd rather be unsure and reflected than be happy and ignorant. What about you stratogustav? What do you think?
