In this thread, I want you guys to tell me what your passion in life is.
I'll start:
My one and only passion in life is nature. I love the environment more than anything else in the world. I grew up in a rural spot of the midwest, surrounded by forest that's teeming with wildlife during the summer months. My many experiences in this glorious setting fueled my love of trees and wildlife. I hold nature in higher regard than humanity, and I don't feel ashamed of that at all. Why should I? The environment is in far worse condition than society, and it's disappearing more and more everyday. I try my best to live ethically and help the environment as much as I can.

Aside from collecting and playing videogames, it's philosophy. Having a civil discussion about existential questions is really fun. But only if it's civil. I love reading it aswell. Right now I'm deep into Confucianism reading Xunzi. After I'm done with Confucianism, it's over to pacifism which I'm very fond of.

+2 In all seriousness I would like to figure out a way to help people to raise their self esteem and be confident about who they are and how it doesn't matter what they do in life it is all fine and there is nothing wrong with it. One thing leads to another and if you ever did something you regret, you should not feel less of a person because making decisions you regret are part of being a human being and part of sharing this life experience. No one is above or below anyone, you are not above or below anyone for liking or disliking whatever it is you like or dislike or for doing or not doing whatever you do or not do because the way you choose to live your life does not make you superior or inferior. That death is here for a reason, for us to learn to love because if it wasn't for the empathy that comes from knowing you will not always be here with those you care about you will never learn it. You should always walk with your head up and be happy with who you are, you don't have to prove anything to anyone, and if you want to change something about you, you can, and if you choose not to, you can also do that, and it is all good because that's who you are, if someone likes it, good for them, and if someone doesn't like it, it's their lost because you will always be unique, important, and irreplaceable. |

To some extend I would say we all are, at some point we all stop and think who we are, we just don't verbalize it.

I've spoken to people who rather be left in the dark than actually think. To quote them: "All this thinking is scaring me". I see, well in some cases is better just to lay down your case, questions can overwhelm someone that haven't come to some level of conclusions already. When someone has addressed personally a certain issue before then the conversation can go on because there is already material from both sides to work with. A literature background always helps too. But nowadays all sort of media play around many philosophical concepts so it should be easier to come across people that is willing to participate in that kind of discussion. My favorite philosophical topic when I was a teenager was determinism vs. indeterminsism. Those concepts were always fun to discuss. |

I dont know I dont really have one. I guess if I were to say what my passion in life is it would probably be history. If my college courses were ww2 history I would be at the top of my class.
