The japanese name of Haunting Ground reminds me how Japan gets the good names every time. Haunting Ground? Yeah.. somewhat interesting! Demento? Sounds awesome! Yakuza? Oh japanese mafia, quite good! Ryu Ga Gotoku...! nuff said.
Actually i think this is the only instance where such thing occurs and counts.

It occurs to me I never answered the thread properly, so... Don't worry about it stratogustav - most of the regulars around here know you're an arcade type of fellow. It's not mandatory to play every supposedly good game there is. I never lost any sleep for never playing a Zelda, or missing out on most of the Metroids, or - gasp- for not caring about anything Mario... Well thank you, I just don't see myself collecting that kind of massive backlog. Specially considering most of those games are 40+ hours, and not to mention the patience I would need to develop for the turn based combat system. I'm just trying to be reasonable with myself, I will just have to skip the genre altogether and live with that. I just hear you guys saying good things all the time, and that's why is a shame I will be missing on it, but it's OK I know I won't have the time. You no playing Nintendo that's a whole different story, those are essentials

I'll make you a deal then - I'll play a Zelda if you give Haunting Ground (a.k.a Demento) a shot. oh and leaon79s i forgot to mention God Hand. Seeing as you're a fan of everything capcom, i assume you've already played it. Lol, I don't care much for Capcom. I just like their sexy digital women. It's not exploitation/objectification if they don't exist! Haven't even played any of the recent Resident Evils (despite having several of them on hand). I'm actually thinking of playing - gasp- Yaiba NGZ before them... (It was $10 for a new copy so just had to see what was so bad about it...) Yah, I played & finished Godhand too. So hard - even on normal... It's obviously based off Hokuto no Ken - we should get a proper Fist of the North Star game just like it ! Or do we already...?

I've already played Demento, way back in the day when it cameout, i had a cousin who was into these games (Quite understandable considering the area where he lived in) I'm like... Halfway into God Hand and after so many years of playing differing genres of games and all that, in this day and age, this is probably one of my favorite games of all time. Its everything that i want from a video game, and it does it perfectly. Not to mention that the battle with Devil Hand is my favorite boss battle of all time, hands down. We are not on speaking terms if you engage with anything NGZ related... ugh i don't want to talk about that atrocity. Hmmm... i wonder, which of the capcom women are considered sexy? Jill? but Jill was only sexy in Revelations. Regardless, excluding Revelations 1 and 2, all of the recent RE games have been average.

stratogustav - From your initial list, I think I should point out that a few of those games, albeit being rpgs, are actually really short. If you have the chance to play Panzer Dragoon Saga, you'll probably finish it in 10 hours or so. Even my 100% savefile clocked in 15h. That's shorter than even linear action games nowadays. The same goes for Chrono Trigger: if you are just going for the ending, it will be around 20 hours at most; it will only take more hours if you want to get every other ending of the game. So, if your main issue with these games is time, maybe you could give these two a try. Also, Saga's gameplay is definitely not like your standard turn-based rpg (they integrated the shooter origins of the series really well), and I would argue that Chrono also feels more "actiony" than most rpgs. I say this because, like you, I also don't have much interest in the genre (I have finished less than 10 turn-based jrpgs), but these two games really did it for me.

Back on topic: Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim on PC so I can mod the crap out of them. I played all of them on PS3 and Fallout 4 on PS4, but I still watch videos in awe on youtube about the PC mods.

I have always wanted to play a thorough playing of Alien vs. Predator and Iron Soldier on the Atari Jaguar. I only played them briefly at Babbages back in the early 90s. I doubt I will ever see an Atari Jaguar or these games.

Maybe if they were available on the go while I'm travelling I could put myself to learn the mechanics. In the house I have too much arcade stuff that keeps me distracted instead.

Deus Ex, Far Cry Classic, Half Life 1 & 2, Guardian Heroes, Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes, Streets of Rage Remake (final version), Yoshi's Island SNES, the GBA Fire Emblem games, Mother 3, Battletoads Arcade, Truxton. Hopefully I'll get my own PC or laptop one of these days so I can download an emulator and play some of these old games. I don't even know how to download an emulator tho....T-T
