An absolute masterpiece. John Carpenter was at his peak. The soundtrack he composed also ruled. Kurt Russell was a certifiable badass. Top notch casting all around. Adrienne Barbeau was a bit of a brown bagger in the face but the melons are stuff of legend. A solid 5.

Kurt Russell is cool. See, that is someone with charisma, unlike Jeff Bridges that has no charisma in The Big Lebowski.

I always thought that this movie was pretty damn cool. It had to directly impact the writing of the Arkham series. The only thing that bothers me to this day is the fact that the police runs around with M16s without hand guards. When I was in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan after 9/11, I ran the Marine Corps MWR tent at night, and we got a ton of 8mm tapes for the projector sent to us from Japan. It was awesome, and we watched this movie on the first night it was shipped to us. The movie kicks ass, but to this day, that still bugs us. Apparently the future only cares about the cool factor of things. Burning the skin off of your hand doesn't mean much, I suppose.
Oh, and Escape from LA made me want to puke with how bad it compares to the original.

You aren't the only one it bothers.

For someone who doesn't like The Big Lebowski, you sure like to talk about it a lot. Escape From New York is a fantastic movie. I just watched it this week for the first time in many years and it's every bit as awesome as I remember. Plus, its impact on video game history is undeniable. If you haven't yet seen it, it's an absolute must-watch. Perhaps Carpenter's finest moment.

For someone who doesn't like The Big Lebowski, you sure like to talk about it a lot. I'm just spreading the truth, I don't want more people deceived by false word of mouth. Like I said, the movie is not bad, but it is certainly exhaustively overrated.

What happened to you, stratogustav? You used to be someone I could trust. The weirdest thing is that people that I know that watch many movies, that are intelligent, competent, smart, people that you would regard as people with good opinions have been deceived by the fallacy that is The Big Lebowski. That is why I'm speaking out. The movie definitely has potential, but both Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore killed all those possibilities.

What's this personal hatred towards him? Is it just him in that movie, or his acting in general (or him in general)?
