What the fuck is going on in this thread. Pulp Fiction is fantastic. 300 is okay, a tiny bit overrated. Zack Snyder's best movie is easily Watchmen. See, deep inside we know 300 is not as good as it shows itself to be, definitely superior than Watchmen, but what makes it stand out is the style. The same goes with Pulp Fiction, the style makes it stand out, but it masks the fact that the movie itself isn't very good. Pulp Fiction is definitely highly overrated, just not as much overrated as Fury Road or The Big Lebowski.

Don't get me wrong, Tarantino has a lot of great movies, Pulp Fiction is just one of the weakest. Something like the Hateful Eight is much better.

I've hijacked many a thread, so I won't complain. But I am surprised. I really thought Escape From New York would be a Pub-y pick. The 80s-futuristic setting, the badass protagonist, a bit of excessive violence. And like I said, the influence it has had on video games is pretty immense. The obvious one is Metal Gear Solid, but I noticed the Arkham City parallels that dschult3 mentioned earlier in my last viewing, too. More recently, Far Cry Blood Dragon definitely takes a page from the movie. While watching I thought how cool Escape From New York would be as a video game, but in many ways it already is. It's funny because I had planned on discussing The Big Lebowski for a while, but I guess there's no point in that now. It's one of my most watched films and I think it's fantastic. I mentioned it the last time stratogustav went on one of these tirades (or maybe it was the time before last) but I can understand someone not liking it. It has a different sense of humor. I can't really understand someone hating it to the point of bringing it up in multiple unrelated threads, though. I'd rather talk about things I like than constantly bring up something I hate. Some people just get a hard-on from hating I guess. Watch those stress levels, guys. It'll give you cancer, you know...

If you think about it, anyone could had make that film. The production value with a few tweaks is something even a college student could afford. The movie is all about a few characters and a dialogue, an adult dialogue. Yet, not many people can pull it off. Tarantino did. He has many other good ones, that one is just to show how weak is Pulp Fiction by comparison.

stratogustav Well, excuuuuse me for having my own opinion! I'm not brainwashed, I just happen to like the movie! It's not the greatest, but neither are the original Star Wars (sorry, Balder, but that's the truth). No movie is perfect. Don't get so wound up. It's just a movie, bro. Calm, calmmmm........
