It's depressing to read that a lot of people need more than one job to support themselves. In Spirit Bomb's case, I'm just going to assume he's only got himself to support, meaning no kids. One shouldn't required to work more than 37.5 hours a week to do so. Thé late stage capitalistic society is built to keep the rich rich and the poor poor. It sucks that you're in a rough patch Maestro. Hope things clear up for you. If you don't mind me asking, what is it that you do for a living? As for discussion threads, there's always a time for posting those.

It's depressing to read that a lot of people need more than one job to support themselves. When you're young it is fine for a little while, it really depends of your situation, what area you want to live, and what are your goals. In some areas one part time is enough to pass by, other people can even live just from the goverment and not even work. However in other areas you can have a full time and still be homeless. When I had 2 or 3 jobs at the time it never felt like a big deal, but I guess everyone is different. Now I barely work and can take 5 month vacations, so it really pays off, and even if something went really bad I wouldn't have much of a problem doing it again.

Update: I'm sure a lot of you have noticed that I haven't been posting any threads lately and haven't been very active here. The primary reason is because I've been having some pretty extreme problems in my personal life lately, most of them financial. You see I'm not getting any financial support from my mom to help me pay for my rent + other living expenses, so it's really taking a blow to my savings, and I can't sustain myself at this rate. This is causing me to feel extremely depressed and I've been going into withdrawl in my free time lately. It sucks because I was planning on posting several weekly discussion threads this week, and I've been meaning to comment on The Black Cauldron thread since it was posted, but I just haven't been in the mood the past few days. I hope you guys understand. I hope you can deal with this; I also had a lot of financial problems while living alone and it sucks. Try not to get sad about it, as it's a temporary situation: once you get up on your feet, you'll see how awesome it is to have the freedom to do whatever you want (as long as it doesn't cost too much money!). I also had some problems this month because family sucks and everything, so now I have a lot to catch up to do around here.

To fully answer your question: -I am only supporting myself (no kids, wife, or pets) -I currently work part-time walking dogs (found via Indeed.com), which I enjoy but doesn't pay well. I also volunteer for my local township collecting trash that is dumped by assholes in creeks or on the side of the road, which is rewarding but doesn't pay at all. I can only work part time because of some mental conditions/workplace disabilities; I get some government assistance but it only really pays for food and gas.

Sad news. I'm not even allowed to access the internet at my mom's house anymore. It's gotten to the point where whenever I try to browse on my dad's old IMac, she tries to either beat me with a mop handle or spray me with bleach (she's always drunk by this point in the day), so the only place I can access the web now is my local libraries. Until I somehow manage to buy a laptop and get access to wifi, this is how my situation will remain, and so I will be on here even less.

Can you see why I'm such a devout teetotaler and misanthrope?

Good news: I BOUGHT A LAPTOP! It's merely a basic $250 Dell which I bought new from my local Radio Shack, but since it comes with built-in wifi, it means that I can now loiter at fast food restaurants all night and mooch off their free wifi! (which I'm doing now) So expect to see me on these boards more often from now on.
Specs: (for those who are curious)
OS: Windows 10 (in other words, garbage) RAM: 4 GB Storage: 500 GB hard drive Processor: Intel pentium silver N5000 processor Graphics: Integrated Intel UHD graphics chip
It's pretty crap for gaming, but since I bought it just to browse the internet and do other basic stuff, it should do just fine. However, I did install Jedi Knight II the other night to test it out of curiosity, and on minimum settings it ran fairly well, with only one noticeable FPS drop in my brief gaming session, so my laptop does seem to be able to run very old games decently. My old desktop PC from 2009 actually came bundled with an intel graphics chip, so I know from experience that they're garbage when it comes to running games.

Hasn't that been a thing for laptops since forever? That's a feature one would expect to always be built in. What fast food chain do you use?

Well it's significant for me personally because I've never owned a laptop before, and before I bought this thing I had no way to access wifi. I lounge at Mcdonalds. I don't buy anything there, though, because it's such an evil company. All fast food chains are evil.

Big surprise, kido.
